The journey to Lady Foster's house was tedious, dull, boring. The driver and I didn't speak, I got the impression that he didn't know what to say to me. Well, I was a legend.
The air outside grew thin, tampered with rain and ice, Asgardian climate was much harsher then Midgard's, Asgard had a climate for for warriors.
I gazed out the window to see the ruins of the town that the destroyer has ravaged, a distraction we caused. I turned away, unable to cope with the magnitude of the ruins. I closed my eyes, hoping to enter a dreamless sleep, but my subconscious has other ideas.~Dream~
"Anthea," a cool voice spoke, I couldn't see the source of the voice, I couldn't see anything. Just darkness. "Anthem" it spoke again, "who are you?" I questioned, I knew this was a dream, but it still peaked my interest. The voice sounded familiar but I couldn't say where from. "I am a friend" it answered rather cleverly. "Then reveal yourself" I challenged it. "In time child, in time" I was panicking now, but I had no reason to. Then I was awoken by the driver.
~End Of Dream~"Miss? We are here" I jolted up, disturbed by my dream, I looked it of the window to see that we were no longer in a barren wasteland. We were now in the city, a city filled with cars and people. "How long did I sleep?" I asked, mesmerised by my surroundings, "4 hours miss" he smiled, I smiled back surprised by my tiredness then got out. I wasn't sure where to go, the mass of people growing each second. "It's the first on your right miss" he seemed to have red my mind, I closed the door and headed to the door.
It was raining now, my dress ruined, dragging on the floor behind me. People looked at me in awe, possible thinking in crazy. I was becoming slightly nervous now, what was I going to do? Just turn up on this mortals door and demand a place to stay? No. I had to do this tactfully, I would remember my manners and simply ask for her help. Yeah. Ask for her help, she wouldn't turn do a helpless woman, who just happened to be a princess and her lovers sister.
I approached a large wooden, rain tarnished door and knocked. "Lady Jane Foster! Are you home?" I yelled, unsure of how to act. Attracting the stares of passersby. There was no movement from with inside the house, until a rather flustered looking Darcy opened it and gawked.
"Lady Darcy" I smiled, allowing the cold rain to filter through my body. She didn't speak, too shocked. Her mouth hung open until Dr. Selvig asked her what was wrong, he caught sight of me and pulled what I had now labelled a 'Darcy face' "Dr Selvig!" Again smiling, they both looked horrified, the rain was starting to get to me now. I shuddered which seeme to break them both out of an involuntary trace that my appearance had placed them in. "Anthea, come in!" Darcy ushered me in, one arm around my tall shoulders. "Thank you Lady Darcy," she smiled, but kept looking at me every so often. "May I ask where Lady Jane is?" I turned to them both, they glanced at each other, then Eric pointed to the stairs. I nodded and proceeded up. I reached a series of room, doors all closed apart from one, I went to reach for the first door when I heard muttering from the room with the door opened. I slowly made my way towards the door, my clothes dripping in icy rain water, "Lady Jane?" I asked, pushing on the door so the mass of the room could be revealed to me. It was dusty, clearly un-lived in very much, books scattered everywhere all with papers and drawings covering the walls. I saw Jane obsessing over one of the drawings, muttering this to herself and then writing them down. "Lady Jane" I spoke a bit louder, disturbing her and causing her to almost faint. I quickly caught her and called for Eric and Darcy, they raced up and Eric snatched her from me and placed her on a bed and moved me down stairs. As I was placed onto a worn couch, Darcy handed me a towel. "Thank you Lady Darcy" she sat down opposite me and waved her hand at me, "no problem" I continued to dry my self when Eric walked in and sat in another chair close to Dracy, both of them locking a gaze with me. There was an awkward silence between us all until Darcy spoke. "So, you're not dead!" Her tone sounded rather happy and. I was glad she cared about my well being, I chuckled. "It would appear so" I laughed back and she joined in, Eric however didn't seem to phased by our conversation. "So, what begs you back here?" She asked rather casually, I looked at the floor, embarrassed by my own admission. "I err, that is what I was hoping to speak to Lady Jane about" Eric then moved his gaze away from the window and too me, "What did you want to ask her?" He was almost threatening, I shifted and looked at him with a dead gaze, "I was wondering if you could indulge my presence for a short while," I smiled at him, showing an unusual kindness to a man who was not accustom to it. "Err what?" Darcy looked confused, Eric shot her a look "she wants to stay" he hissed. I knew. I was going to have friction with this man. "Ooh, well yeah sure you can!" Darcy revealed, just then Jane came down and stared at me whilst moving closer to Eric and Darcy, but never taking her brown eyes away from my ocean blue ones. It made me uncomfortable. "Eerm what's going on here?" Jane asked rather idiotically, "she wants to stay" Darcy said flatly, Jane's eyebrows raised, "and eerm, where's Thor?" He tone timid, perhaps ashamed. "Asgard" I answered. She sat in the arm of Darcy's chair with a perplexed look on her face. "Why aren't you there?" Eric now once again joining the conversation, "I left" I shrugged, moving the towel away from me. "Lady Jane, I know you don't know much about me but I would like to ask if you would allow me to stay for a short while, I am unsure of this realm and I have no where else to go. My brother trusted you and you him, I only ask to lend some of that trust and kindness that I know my brother had fallen for" I pleaded, Jane looked shocked and Darcy impressed, Eric unsure of how to look, conflict clearly taking place inside of his head. No one spoke for a while, I took this as my que to leave. I rose up and headed for the door, but was grabbed on my arm by Jane. "No, you can stay" she smiled, I smiled back at her. Still looking at my face intently as if trying to find something that was hidden.
She moved me back to the room and sat me down. She then went into the kitchen and returned with cups hear hand. He gave one to Eric, one to Darcy and one too me, she then retrieved her own. They all took sips and as I contemplated the strange liquid with in the cup. "It's coffee" Darcy laughed, I held it too my nose and then pushed it away immediately, disgusted by the putrid smell. "I'm afraid I do not like that liquid" I apologised, but Jane insisted it was okay. Darcy laughed, "So, how exactly are you alive?" She quizzed, Jane and Eric also intrigued in my miraculous recovery. I held my strong posture, "I ascended," I replied, Eric leaning in closer as if unable to hear me. "What's that?" "It is my destiny" I weakly chuckled, trying to make light of a situation. My eyelids were getting heavier and they all noticed, "traveling does take it's toll on people, especially when it is between 'realms'" Darcy laughed to herself, I nodded. Jane then raced upstairs and came down with a blanket and pillow. "I'm sorry I don't have a spear bed at the moment, will the couch be okay?" I looked down at the couch, glad of any place to rest my weak body. "Yes thank you Lady Jane" "just Jane is fine" I nodded then wrapped myself up in the blanket and pillow, them surrounding me as I drifted off into a desperate sleep.
