One day in years yet to come
And future events to happen hence
I will be the legacy left on Earth
Left to carry out my family's life
Their work, achievements, and years of strife
When everybody is long gone
Shall I wish
That I had listened just a little bit harder
To the advice everybody gives me now?
Shall I be a blank slate,
Or a black canvas
To reflect light upon life,
Or darkness upon death?
Deaths will divide my heart in half
And the rest of my family shall be the remainder
They all say "don't subtract, simply add"
Though, how add
When you have been divided?
And when I am the last number
In the equation
Ages hence
I will look back and wonder
If this is the reason that remainders
