" Naina, Naina..... I am getting late, come on, Can you please bring me that bag from upstairs, Naina!! " Abhi called out for her for the third time. He wanted to reach out to the office early today.
Today both the companies were finally going to start with the project and there was a big meeting with the share-holders that was going to take place, many of the people were coming from Mumbai just to attend the meeting, even Abhi's assistant Som that was working from Banglore was here to put his sole attention with his Boss, he had seen Abhi from a long time and knew all the hardships he faced, be it personal or professional.
" Naina, where are you? I am getting late" groaning internally at this, he started to march upwards looking up for the person he had been searching for the past 15 mins, his eager steps halted seeing the one he had been desperately searching for in front of the temple, looking calm as ever, divine as always, fresh like a flower, eyes closed, lips murmuring something continuously, hands clasped. Seeing her so calm and relaxed h forgot that it was him only a few minutes back restless, in a hurry, and ready to turn the whole world upside down.
Naina: Abhi....Abhi, hey aap sun rahe ho.... Abhi?
H came out of her dazed state only to find his wife staring at him with big doe eyes, coming out o his la-la land, he blinked his eyes and focused on what she wanted to say.
Abhi: Yeah, say
Naina: Ye vo Prashad
Looking down, he finally noticed her carrying the puja thali, waiting for him to proceed, Abhi was never a very religious man, he believed in work, karma, and struggle. All the worship and devotion were done by the lady heart of his family, Abhi and Shailesh similarized a lot, they both had a lot of common in them. On the other hand, Kartik was more like his mom. Irrespective of his thoughts, he never showed any sign of opposition or anything when it came to people's beliefs, he always respected them, and this made him gently take the aarti 3 times join hands, and then take a small nibble on the Prashad.
Sensing Naina's stare at him he looked at her and raised his eyebrows
Abhi: ( known tone): aaasskkk.....
Naina: You don't believe in these religious things na?
Asking him, very slowly, with a lot of hesitation, it almost seemed like mumbling to him. Releasing a sigh of breath, he looked at her and said in a gentle tone
Abhi: I have my own beliefs, but that doesn't mean I don't respect the others, to you is your own belief, and for me, it's my own, hmmm.
He said it in a soft explaining manner as if explaining things to a small kid. Looking up to him she nodded her head slowly and passed him a smile.
Abhi: Haan, yes I was looking for you. I am getting late for the office, the driver will outside only reach him out whenever you want.
It took her by surprise a bit, it was the first time she had him vocalize his concern, but one thing she couldn't help but notice was the fact that he mentioned the driver......not him. Was it only inside her that she felt a bit odd, not paying much heed she smiled thinking about the progress, and nodded at him
Abhi: okay then, bye
Naina: see you
Giving her a brief glance, he left. Heaving a sigh she again started her daily chores. A lot had to be done today since she had been working from home for the university. And a lot of assignments and other stuff were still due. She had to finish it all up and make lunch also.
Time Skip
After what felt like ages, she was finally able to wrap all her work up. She was happy that she had finished all her due work and now she could be free without a stressed mind. Going into the kitchen, her eyes noticed the black bag, confused she went closer to it and then suddenly remembered. It was Abhi's tiffin. She had packed it in the morning but due to all the work and everything she forgot to remind him of it, and Abhi's need to rush off didn't help too.
