Awkward Rescue (Sonic & Shadow) (Sonadow)

Shadow had just arrived in Green Hil Zone, He had gotten a call from Amy about Sonic, Sonic had gone missing and no-one could find him. Shadow walked up to Amy's house and saw Amy standing in the front lawn.

Shadow: "Hey Amy. How are you?"

Amy: "Oh, hey Shadow! I've been better, I guess. Did you see Sonic on your way here?"

Shadow: "No, I didn't. Where did you last see Sonic?"

Amy: "I saw him going towards Mystic Forest about 30 minutes ago..."

Shadow: "Okay, good. Thanks Amy I'll keep you updated."

Amy: "Ok...I'll look around the north end of Green Hill in the meantime."

Shadow ran off toward Mystic Forest, he knew something was wrong. Sonic may be a reckless fool (by Shadow's standards) but Sonic cared about his friends and wouldn't intentionally make them worry about him for a laugh.

Shadow sped into Mystic Forest, he stopped and slowed down to a walk, taking in every detail. Shadow saw sneaker footprints etched into the muddy ground and knew he was heading in the right direction.

He kept walking, Shadow's ears flicked slightly, he heard shouting off in the distance and it sounded like someone in distress. Shadow ran towards the source of the noise and stopped suddenly. He was standing on top of a mini-cliff overlooking a lake of quicksand.

Stuck a few feet away from the edge of the cliff was Sonic. The lower half of Sonic was stuck in the quicksand, it was up to his waist. Sonic looked up with an embarrassed look on his face, embarrassed to see Shadow see him like this.

Sonic: "Oh...hey Shadow...fancy seeing you here, hehe...."

Shadow: "How did you even get stuck like this blue hedgehog?"

Sonic: "Well...I was running through Mystic Forest and I guess I wasn't watching were I was going...and here we are...."

Shadow: "Hold on, faker. I'm going to try and get you out of there, just don't move."

Shadow summoned a Chaos Spear, and lowered it down to Sonic could grab onto it, Once Sonic had a firm grip on the spear Shadow raised the spear up and pulled Sonic out of the muck.

Once Sonic and Shadow were up on stable ground Sonic zipped around in a circle a few times to shake off all the mud. Once Sonic had shaken off all the mud Shadow decided to give Sonic a few choice words.

Shadow: "What were you thinking faker? You had everyone worried sick, Your lucky you hadn't landed in that quicksand pit headfirst or you could've suffocated!"

Sonic: "I didn't mean to get stuck in that pit, it was an accident! We can't all be perfect like you Mr. Im-the-ultimate lifeform-and-I'm-perfect-in-every-way! Why are you even getting on my case anyway?"

Shadow was starting to get angry now, he blurted out his thoughts before he could stop himself.

Shadow: "Because I was worried sick something bad happened to you stupid!!"

Sonic: "Wh...you were worried about me Shadow? But...why? You never hesitate to fight me, why care about me now?" 

Shadow: "BECAUSE I LOVE YOU, YOU MORON!!"

Shadow froze and clapped his hands over his mouth, Shadow's face was burning red with embarrassment. Sonic froze with shock, Sonic started to blush too, his face turning a soft pink.

Sonic: "You...have a crush on me?"

Shadow:" . . .yes..."

Sonic: "How long have you had a crush on me?"

Shadow: "Since...since we saved the earth from the falling Ark...I'm sorry I should've never-"

Shadow was cut of by Sonic giving him a kiss on the cheek, Shadow froze with shock, Sonic was smiling at him.

Shadow: "What..."

Sonic: "Well, now I know we feel the same way!"

Shadow: "You love me too?...How long?"

Sonic: "Yeah, ever since the space Ark, I thought you were pretty cute. Your even cuter when your flustered."

Shadow smirked playfully at his blue Rival, he was starting to enjoy this new understanding between them.

Shadow: "Flustered? You want to see flustered hedgehog, I'll show you flustered!"

Shadow scooped Sonic up in his arms bridal style and dashed out of Mystic Forest and back into Green Hill Zone. Sonic because very flustered and snickered, his face was bright red. Shadow zipped in front of Amy's house and put Sonic down in the front lawn.

Amy was waiting there, when she saw Sonic she was overwhelmed with relief and happiness, She ran up to Sonic and threw her arms around Sonic in a hug.

Amy: "Oh, Sonic! There you are! I was so worried about you!"

Sonic: "Yeah...sorry for scaring you Amy. I got into a bit of a mishap but Shadow helped me out."

Shadow: "Yeah."

Amy: "Thanks for helping me out Shadow, I owe you one!"

Shadow: "Your welcome Amy. I'll be going now..."

Amy turned to go inside the house and Shadow turned around, Shadow glanced over his shoulder and gave Sonic a friendly smile before he sped off. Sonic stood their for a moment, before turning around and following Amy inside the house.
