Famliy Bonding (Sonic & Uncle Chuck)

Sonic was in a really good mood today. Why? Because he was going to spend the day with his favorite(and only) uncle, his Uncle Chuck! Sonic sped through the landscape, he was nearly to his Uncle's home. It had been ages since he had spent some one-on-one quality time with his uncle, Sonic was snapped out of his thoughts as he felt the earth shake, Sonic couldn't stay on his feet and fell to the ground. Was it an earthquake? An Eggman attack? The ground stopped shaking for a few seconds before a huge burst of black smoke burst out of the ground like a geyser, just inches away from Sonic. Sonic could barely stand as the ground was shaking even more violently then before, then it all stopped at once and Sonic was left confused and shaken up. Sonic shakily got to his feet and took a few cautious steps before he heard a voice to his right, a blur of blue rushed right up to Sonic and the blue hero panicked, swinging wildly at the blur. A pair of white gloved hands grabbed Sonic's wrists and Sonic heard a comforting and familiar voice.

???: "Whoa! Easy there sonny, it's just me!"

Sonic recognized the voice immediately, it was the voice of his Uncle Chuck! Uncle Chuck let go of Sonic's wrists with a concerned look on his face.

Sonic: "Sorry about that Uncle Chuck, I thought you were an Eggman robot trying to catch me..."

Uncle Chuck: "No worries Sonic, quick question, did the ground suddenly start shaking uncontrollably and black smoke started shooting out of the ground or is it just me?"

Sonic: "You were effected by that earthquake-thingy too? A big blast of smoke appeared right next to me!"

Sonic and Uncle Chuck walked over to the gaping hole left by the smoke blast. Uncle Chuck bent down to inspect the pit.

Sonic: "How deep is it? Where does it go?"

Uncle Chuck: "Well, it's definitely the same depth as the other holes i've investigated, but as of right now I have no idea what's or who's causing it."

Sonic: "Wait...there's more of these things?"

Uncle Chuck: "Yes, let's go back home and I'll show you my research."

*At Uncle Chucks home*

Sonic and Uncle Chuck were sitting in Uncle Chuck's living room talking, both Sonic and Uncle Chuck had two different theories on what was causing the mysterious earthquakes, Sonic was sure it was another of Eggmans schemes while Uncle Chuck thought it might be some kind of underground volcano or some other kind of geological phenomenon.

Sonic: "So...what do we do?"

Uncle Chuck: "Well, my research so far says that the earthquakes have a specific area that's effected. It's seems that Sunset City and the surrounding area is effected and the rest of Mobius might feel a small blink-and-you'll-miss-it tremble and move on with their lives."

Sonic: "So Sunset City is where we look next? We'll probably find answers there."

Uncle Chuck: "Your absolutely right sonny! I'll get my things and then we can-"

Uncle Chuck was rudely interrupted by another earthquake, luckily this one was further away from them, yet it was still powerful enough to shake furniture slightly and knock photos off the wall, Then it stopped as quickly as it came.

Sonic: "That earthquake was in the direction of Sunset City!"

Uncle Chuck: "Then we need to to go now! People could be hurt!"

Sonic and Uncle Chuck rushed out of the house and towards Sunset City. By the time they got their it was utter chaos. Cars were crashed into each other, Sidewalks were ripped up and People were running around frantically, with police just barely able to keep the crowd under control. Sonic jogged over to a police woman who was shouting out orders to the crowds.
