They noticed Camilo playing with just one or two kids now. Sometimes, it was said his true gift was making kids and adults alike laugh.
Dolores looked at her younger brother briefly, tears still streaming down her face, as she, Isabela, and the lady walked through the town on the way to la casa Madrigal.
His eyes met with hers and he frowned, clearly noticing that she wasn't okay.
She looked away quickly, not wanting Camilo to notice something was wrong, even though he already noticed that.
He licked his chapped lips then looked back at the kids.
Dolores kept walking with Isabela and the lady to the house. Upon arriving, Casita noticed something was wrong, so it opened the doors for them immediately.
The lady walked into the house, followed closely by Isabela and Dolores, to find a concerned Julieta and Pepa in the main area of the house.
"Dolores?" Pepa asked. "Isabela? Is everything okay?"
Dolores shook her head as she broke out into more quiet sobs.
Julieta approached Isabela and gave her a hug.
"Mamá..."
"Hola." The lady spoke up.
Julieta looked at her then looked at Pepa.
"¿Hola?"
"I come baring terrible news." The lady said.
Julieta immediately grew more concerned.
"What happened?"
"I'm sorry to inform you that..." The lady looked from Pepa to Julieta. "Okay, which one of you is her mother?" She pointed at Isabela.
"I am." Julieta said, growing more concerned.
"Okay, well, I am sorry to inform you that one of your other daughters has unfortunately passed away..." The lady tried to break the news as gently as possible.
Julieta gasped and placed her hand over her mouth, tears forming in her eyes.
A cloud formed over Pepa's head. "What?"
Julieta couldn't bring herself to ask which one, as the lady hadn't specified which of her other two daughters was dead.
That's when Luisa descended the stairs. "Hola, Mamá. Uhhhh, what's going on?"
That's when Julieta realized it was Mirabel who died. She felt like breaking down right then and there, but she didn't want to break down in front of her two remaining children.
Isabela was sobbing.
Julieta looked over at Pepa, tears in her eyes. There was a cloud over her head that was pouring.
Julieta looked at the lady, "what happened?"
"I don't know. I was just out with a group of friends when we heard these two screaming for help, and when we got there, your daughter was..." The lady stopped, not wanting to finish the sentence for the sake of Julieta and the other family members who were there.
"Does anyone know what happened?"
"No."
"I- I just heard her screaming for help, and we went to go find her... and we were too late..." Dolores sobbed out, hugging her mother tightly for comfort.
