Nini's pov

"Are you crazy or just not thinking?" I asked as soon as I got in Ricky's car. 

He just stared at me, not understanding what I'm talking about. "Probably both." 

"You beat Noah." I said directly. "Are you out of your mind?! You could get hurt!"

"I don't care about that!" he replied, shaking his head. "He hurt you! And I will not pretend that nothing happened, he must know he can't do it ever again!" 

I didn't know what to say next. I'm not used to Ricky yelling at me. Even though he's not mad at me.. anyway it's weird when he raises his voice. I guess he really wants to show me his point. 

It's quite sweet of him that he takes care of me and that he doesn't want anyone to hurt me but on the other hand I think it would be best if we left it as it is, because now I have to worry about what Noah and his crazy sister will do. 

"I just don't want anything bad to happen to you." he whispered. "I won't let anyone hurt you." I smiled at what he said and hugged him tightly. He hugged me even tighter. "You are safe with me." 

"I know." I answered him quietly. 

"Wait, how do you know what I did to that jerk?" he asked as he pulled away from the hug.

"Well..." then I told him everything that happened at school today. I told him that Noah and Lily were expelled from school and what Gina had done, and that EJ and she had saved me for them. Simply everything. 

Ricky liked that we wouldn't have to go to the same school with them anymore, but he didn't like that he wanted to hurt me again. That made him angry but I tried to calm him down as we are on our way to a football game where Ricky, as one of the main players, needs to concentrate. 

...

Time flew by and suddenly the game was over. Ricky's team won, and all my friends and I watched and cheered on him and EJ the whole time.

As soon as it was over, we all ran to them. I immediately jumped into Ricky's arms. "I'm so proud of you!" I shouted for him to hear me as everyone around us was screaming and applauding.

"If you weren't here I couldn't do it." he smiled at me.

"You did it yourself! I was just watching!"

"Ricky! We did it!" some of his teammates shouted and then they hug.

I turned around and searched the crowd for EJ to congratulate him. After he saved me from Noah today, I decided to try to give him a second chance and be friends again. And Gina.

"EJ! You won!"

"I know!" he looked at me with his huge smile.

"Congratulations!"

"I'm sorry to interrupt..." we all heard a loud voice and all heads turned on the cheerleader with a microphone. "But it's quite important.. One of the players has a question for one special girl."

My friends and I looked at each other blankly. We were so confused, we didn't understand what was going on.

Suddenly the music began to play. The school band started playing their instruments and the cheerleaders started dancing.

After a while, four other girls from the team with big signs appeared. They stood a short distance away form me and the others.

I froze as the four cheerleaders turned the signs and there were letters N I N I on them. My name.

Everyone, including my friend group, looked at me when the spotlight suddenly pointed at me. I just smiled a little at that.

"Nini.." we heard the voice of the girl with the microphone again. "One of our football players would like to know if you would want to go to prom with him."

As soon as she said that, five other cheerleaders appeared with the sign prom and question mark.

After few seconds another girl started walking towards me and gave me a bouquet of roses. Red roses.

I looked at the flowers and had to smile. There were exactly seventeen roses... I am seventeen years old.

I looked at the crowd and searched for Ricky. When I found him, I showed him my huge smile with my tears of happiness rolling down my cheeks.

He just stared at me without any move...

And just when I wanted to say something, something else happened. I heard a small explosion and confetti of different colors suddenly fell from the sky.

"Wow." I whispered to myself as I spun around looking at the sky, laughing. 

I smiled at my boyfriend. "Ricky, I–" I started but I couldn't finish. I was speechless. It was amazing, just like in those high school movies. I felt like the main character.

And the best part is that Ricky did it.

Right now I don't care what others say about me or what they think. All I want is to give Ricky a kiss and hug him so tightly.

And of course I'll go to the prom with him and everyone can think whatever they want. I do not care! I want to shout to  the whole world that I am taken and that I have the best boyfriend and that it is Ricky Bowen. 

But I didn't understand one thing... why did Ricky look like that?

Disappointed, angry, I would even say sad. 

"This is amazing! Thank you so much!"

He shook his head. "I- I didn't.."

The whole world stopped.

What does he mean he didn't?

I looked him straight in the eyes and he looked into mine.  Everyone heard the loud screaming of the audience but I only heard my heartbeat which beat faster every second due my nerves.

"Nini?"a boy's voice interrupted my stare at Ricky. "Will you go to prom with me?" Brett asked me.

I've been writing an essay all day and I'm tired now so this chapter isn't that good. But I hope you enjoyed it anyway :)
