Today's the day. The championship. The place that they never thought they would make it. All they need to do is beat Iceland and they win.

"𝙇𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝘼𝙣𝙖𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙢, 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙖, 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙐.𝙎.𝘼. 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙪𝙨 𝙄𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙮 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙅𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙧 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙨."

"Hi everybody. This is Bob Miller along with Jacques Berman. Nice to have you with us for what should be an exciting title game tonight."

"Coach. I woke up... and the pain was gone" Adam says twisting his stick sideways. Everyone cheers for him. "Adam, I'm sorry, we already have a full roster." Coach explains. Peyton and Charlie look at each other. Russ starts to take off his jersey but Peyton stops him. "He can have my spot." She states. She walks over to Coach and Adam. "It's what I can do for the team." She says. "let me do it." She says to her very hesitant boyfriend. Adam nods in defeat.  "Peyton, I need you on the bench, coaching right there with me." Coach says, handing her a clipboard.

"Take a deep breath. Here we go!" Gordon yells as they are walking onto the ice. They skate around the ice.

"𝙉𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙨 𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨. 𝙄𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙢𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙐.𝙎.𝘼., 12 𝙩𝙤 𝙤𝙣𝙚.

"Heads high! Stand tall! Fly straight! U.S.A.!" Gordon starts. "All the way!" The players finish. The Icelanders shout some cheer in Icelandic. The crowd goes wild for the two teams.

"𝙒𝙚'𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙚-𝙤𝙛𝙛 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩'𝙨 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚. 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙐.𝙎.𝘼. 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙄𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙. Guy got checked down into the corner. Goldberg cuts the puck off and Dean comes behind to grab it. Dean hits the puck before Gunnar checks him hard into the glass. "Damn it Gunnar." Peyton mutters to herself. An Iceland player shoots the puck from the blue line. Goldberg stick saves it. Peyton sighs in relief.

Fast forward into the game. It's half time and the score is 4-1, Iceland.

"Did you all enjoy that?" Coach says walking into the locker room. "Yeah!" They all shout back. "Okay well, so did they, because they're still three points up and we're one period away from defeat." Coach explains. They all sit down on their respected stools. "If we can't beat them we might as well keep our pride." Jesse speaks up. "Yeah." They all agree. "Jesse, that's not pride." Coach explains. "Sure when Dwayne roped that big oaf, part of me cheered. But, guys, I've been there. I know how you feel. I wanted to cream that jerk that busted my knee in the minors, and I really, really wanted to go after Stannson for that cheap shot. But you know what? My knee will heal. And if I become someone I'm not, if I sink to their level, well, then I lost more than my knee. You understand?"
