Chapter 4:Missing

~~~~~~~~~3rd POV~~~~~~~~~~~

Blaze ducks quickly as she spins away from her challenger. Her shining armor glimmering in the sun as she thrusted her sword effortlessly.

She blocks attacks from her opponent's sword then sends a back kick knocking him off guard. She then took it upon herself to then perform a low kick.
Her opponent grunts as he landed on his back. As he was about to get up he was slammed down by Blaze's metal boot on his chest. Her  sword was inches from his own helmet.

"Damn, Blaze cut me some slack would ya?" Perci  lifted his helmet off his head as he laid defeated.

"Blaze?" The Princess raised her own helmet as she looked down fearlessly. "Blaze is not here!"

"Fine, Percival. Cut me some slack!" Perci says more demanding.

"You cannot just ask your opponents for SLACK, Perci! You must demand for me to back off you-physically! " Blaze backed away from Perci as he sat up.

"This armor is freaking heavy...how do our knights do this? How do YOU do this, Percival." Perci  began taking off the armor.

"It's Sir Percival." She took off her own armor.
"But you can call me Blaze now. We're done with sword fighting for today.." Blaze smiled.

Today for Perci's training Blaze wanted to work on his swordsmanship. Unfortunately for Perci when Blaze is suited up in her own customized armor she goes by her alter ego, Percival.

Sir Percival to be exact.

"Thank Sol that's over." Perci huffed.
He isn't a fan of Sir Percival personally.

"Princess Blaze-prince Perci! I'll take your suits to be sure they get polished." A maid bows to the two.

"Thank you." Perci and Blaze say in unison.

"Blaze I forgot to ask you- what are ya gonna be up to next week?" Perci then grabbed a water from a platter that another maid brought to them.

"Oh? I do not think so. What is going on with you?" Blaze turned to him.

"Your parents didn't tell you of the Ball Darkmire is hosting??."

"A what?" Blaze frowned.

"My Kingdom is having a Union Ball upon celebrating our newest Alley- Green Gate." Percival gestures with his hands.

"Green Gate? Is that the home of the Seedrains?" Blaze thought aloud. It's another kingdom in this realm.

"Yeah! we have some plants and flowers in Darkmire that they wanted to research and use. We signed the treaty and now we're having a ball.. id assume your family will be there since they will be  your alleys too?"

"Unfortunately you have a good point.." Blaze rolled her eyes as she nodded. "have you thought of bringing your female friend with you? I still haven't met her." She ended folding her arms.

"N-no. She...it's not her thing. She's really uncomfortable about it...I have no way of warming her up to the royal life. I've got strict time slots." Perci fums clearly frustrated suddenly.

"I understand..perhaps another time." Blaze went back to her sad look. She doesn't want to go to a ball.

"There's a princess around our age as well. Perhaps she is as free spirited as us too?" Perci shrugs trying to persuade her even though she will have no choice.

"Fine."

"Don't look so glum, sis. I've got an idea.." he winks happily. Perci has a nice trick up his sleeve. More like a suggestion. Blaze silently raised her brow. What could he say that'll better this situation?

"What if we invited your friends? The ball is in Darkmire and I'd love to have them as my guest. I'm sure you'd love to see them too right?"

Blaze's eyes lit up as they did on her first day of school. "That would be amazing! They're so busy with their own lives-I'm not sure. And I can't leave here! How can I-"

"Hey hey don't worry! A letter with the Princess's orders will get delivered quickly. Maybe we can write some special letters and put our signatures on them later?"

"Later? We could do it now! Go get cleaned up and meet me in my office!"  Blaze started Dashing off into the castle as she waved. "I'll see you then Perci!"

After Blaze had cleaned herself from the must and sweat from training she had a change of nice clothes to change into. She walked the halls and approached her office door, and knocked a few times.

Within a couple of seconds Perci opened The door with an  exaggerated bow. "Welcome my lady."

"Thank you, my good sir." Blaze walks into the room as Perci took a seat in one of the two chairs in front of her desk. He watched as his closest friend walked over to her counter and tapped her fingers on it gracefully. 

"Can you teach me the code?" Perci watches her hands.  Blaze shook her head.
"Perci you should count yourself lucky that you can watch me put in the code."

Blaze just wanted to check the Sol emeralds as she usually does when she visits her office. Perci is the only other person who knows of their location, but Blaze is the only one with the code to the safe..

As the case opened Blaze froze immediately.

Perci tilted his head at her petrified face.

"Blaze?" He stood up to look in the case himself.
Perci frowned as he turned to her.

"Hey-it's gonna be-."

"What the fuck do mean it's going to be okay Perci!?" Blaze shrieked then instantly covered her mouth.

She didn't mean to curse.

Perci motions for her to take a deep breath.
Blaze does so several times. When she finished she covered her face with her hands.
"What a great Guardian of the Sol Emeralds I am."

"Shut up with the sarcasm." Perci folded his arms as he looked in the case. "Only one is missing...that's weird."

Blaze brought her head up. "You're right! How odd. my green emerald is all that is gone." Blaze began pacing around her office as Perci sat back down.
"How'd they even get in here? How'd they know the code!? I will obviously need a new location for the emeralds as well.."

The office got quiet as both thought deeply.

"Should we tell-"

"I don't want to tell my parents..." Blaze whispered out. "But I have to report this-no one els can know!"

Perci sighed. "Honestly I'd give it some time maybe we can solve it on our own. We're not dumb." He shrugged.

Blaze glanced to Perci then to her desk. "Yeah.. I believe Sonic can help us as well.." she begin to smile. "He protects his people in his own realm-I'm sure he can help us!"

Perci nodded at her then shrugged "Silver too-heck all of your friends count as a team."

"Right. Cmon let's get these letters together." Blaze sat at her desk. She feels better about this situation.
" Also. They're your friends too Perci."

Perci laughed as he took a seat. "Haha right.."
