If there was anything that could be said for Bucky, it was that he was a prompt and organised person. That was normally the case, but this morning there was just something about the way that the early morning sun was washing over Steve's sharp features that made him want to spend an extra 10 minutes in bed with him, which turned into 20 and then 30.

It wasn't that he regretted spending that extra time with Steve, but it had left him running late to his first meeting of the day, rushing towards his office building nursing a piping hot coffee in one hand whilst balancing his phone in the other hand, trying to prioritise emails and messages.

Rushing towards the elevator, Bucky repeatedly hit the button, waiting very impatiently before a voice called. "Mr Barnes..." He glanced over his shoulder to see Detective Danvers sauntering towards him, arms crossed over his chest. "You look busy. I don't mean to interrupt your morning." "Well, you are..." His voice was short. The last thing Bucky wanted to deal with this morning was Carol Danvers.

"I was just passing by and thought it would be rude if I didn't acknowledge you." Her voice was soft, crossing her arms over her chest. "I have to admit I was surprised to see you the other evening..." She alluded to Bucky being present as it was announced to you that Oliver was officially a missing person. "It was lucky you were there to show your support and comfort."

It was a difficult task not to scowl at Carol; instead, Bucky just shrugged his shoulders carelessly and responded evening. "It was lucky that I was there for her... no one could ever expect any type of emotion from someone as cold as you, Danvers." His drawl was low, but there was no sign of hurt over the Detective's face, only a firm smirk which stayed pressed to her lips.

A ding informed them both that the elevator had finally arrived. Without another word, Bucky stepped inside. "You have yourself a good day, Mr Barnes... I'm sure that we'll be speaking again very soon." Just as she finished speaking the metal doors slid closed with Bucky glaring at her from the other side.

It wasn't that Bucky was worried about the Detective lingering around. It had been like this for years now and even after all this time, Carol hadn't been able to tie a single crime to them. All that Danvers was to them now was annoying and idle threats. There was nothing more than would come of it than that.

A big bubble of anxiety was rolling around in your chest as you sat in the very disorganised office of Detective Fury. It wasn't like you had done anything wrong and they weren't interrogating you like the Detective had said; they were just trying to paint a clear picture of what Oliver was doing in his final few days before his disappearance.

The narrowed eyes of the Detective found your face as he asked slowly. "When was the last time that you had any contact with Mr Saxon-Khan?" For a moment, you had to really wrack your brain. "Um, he showed up drunk outside of my house one evening a few weeks ago." You remembered it had been awfully embarrassing to have to deal with that situation in front of Bucky, but it didn't seem to deter his interest in you.
