Come Back, Bonnie

I used my laptop to look through what the problem was, apparently Bonnie saw a threat before getting broken. I'd better stop his security protocol and bring him back to a neutral state so the next time I turn him on, I don't lose my arm. My skills are mainly on the mechanical side, not the coding side, so this whole process took up the rest of the day.

"Y/N? Wake up, sleepyhead." I felt myself get shaken awake. "Wah? Huh?" I opened my eyes to see two glowing amber ones staring back at me. "Good morning tech," Roxy said with a smile. I stretched and yawned, "Morning. Gimme a sec, then we'll start."

I ended up falling asleep when I finished going through Bonnie's security protocol, slept until 6 AM and that was when Roxy came down to Parts and Service. "Y/N, what happened to your arm?" Roxanne pointed at in with concern. I tried to cover the bruise with my hand as I flashed her a nervous smile "Oh, I just fell yesterday. No biggie!" Of course I wasn't gonna tell her what really happened. And everyone else's check-ups went that way too, they'd ask and I would lie about falling, Sun even came back during Chica's examination and gave me an ice pack for it.

Tonight is supposed to be the night that Bonnie's casing arrives, the time was 3:40 PM right now. Scott wasn't very specific about the time it's supposed to arrive. "Hey, Earth to Y/N?" I was snapped out of my thoughts, literally, by Casey snapping her fingers in front of me. "There we go, you've been staring at the wall for a while now. Your drink isn't cold anymore," she pointed out. "Sorry, just thinking about work is all," I smiled sheepishly as I took a sip of my room temperature soda. "You're such a workaholic," she chuckled "Well, better hurry and finish your break so you can get back to work!"

Just then, my Fazwatch received a message, Bonnie's casing would be here in an hour. I smiled at the news and at the uncanny timing. "Looks like I've got some time to kill, Cas. Come on, let's go get some nachos from El Chip's."

There, I stood in front of Bonnie, now with an all new casing. He was slumped over on the metal table, it was pretty unnerving. For extra protection, I held onto my Bonnie plush, childish I know, but it was the only thing I had. Plus, it helped me feel safer. I went to turn him on and the same process as yesterday happened, and then the silence, I held the plush tighter as I watched with bated breath.

His eyes opened and I flinched a little, but all he did was stare at me. "Bonnie?" He blinked once, twice "...Y/N?"

I sighed in relief as I fell back against the wall "Thank God..." That relief was immediately replaced by joy and excitement as I stood back up to my full height "You're still you!" Bonnie smiled, "Heh, yeah. I am." My eyes started watering as I went to give him a big hug "We missed you so much... I was so worried that I couldn't bring you back," I wept as I buried my face into his chest. "Oh, superstar..." I felt his arms wrap around me in a comforting hug. "It must have been so hard... but you did it, Y/N! You brought me back," he whispered as he pulled me away from the hug and wiped my tears.

"Maybe Freddy isn't the only dad here," I joked as my tears started to slow. Bonnie laughed as he pulled me into another hug "Really, at a time like this?"

He put me back down on the ground once our hug ended, then patted my head gently "Way to go, superstar." I smiled up at the bunny but it slowly disappeared as I remembered "Bonnie, what happened to you?" He seemed to think before a look of realization set in "Someone was in the Pizzaplex, somebody I didn't recognize." I looked at him in confusion "But, that can't be right... Scott told me they checked the cameras for what happened but they couldn't see anything."

"She had a button, it controlled the S.T.A.F.F. bots. They attacked me," Bonnie recalled. "Who?" This was bringing more questions than it did answers. "A girl in a white rabbit costume. I found her in Monty Golf after following... Vanessa!" He got a serious look on his face "Something weird has been going on with Vanessa."

The sound system interrupted the two of us "It is now closing time, Freddy and the gang will see you all on Monday!" Bonnie looked up at the ceiling in confusion "Monday?" I answered, "Scott told me that he'd close the Pizzaplex this Sunday so I could fully repair you with no interruptions." He nodded in response then all of a sudden gasped, "Wait a second, we could go and confront Vanessa right now."

"Woah, woah big guy! We don't even know if you full work," I said as I put my hands up in a 'slow down' motion. "I'm fiiine," he said as he hopped off the table he was sitting on. "See?" He walked around the room a few times and even picked up the old Bonnie plus that I must have dropped earlier. "It's like I'm brand new! You did great superstar," he said with a grin as he handed me back the plushy. "Well, ok... But I still haven't reconnected you to the Pizzaplex servers yet-" He cut me off with a wave of his hand "We can do that afterwards! At least I can still do this..."

He didn't really do anything after saying that, so I looked at him in confusion. But before I could ask, his voice sounded from my Fazwatch "Since you're the robot technician of the place, us animatronics have the ability to communicate with you like this!"

I looked down at the thing in awe and then back up at Bonnie, he chuckled at my expression, "Normally, you need a specially made Fazwatch for one of us to do that."
