Kim Taehyung

"I always tell her to carry an umbrella but does she listen. She catches a cold easily too.", says Mrs. Chae as we listen to Seon Ra sneezing.

"Maybe I should go check up on her once. I should apologize too.", says mom.

Apologize? For what?

"Apologize for what?", I ask.

"Nothing much. She just scolded her a little over nothing, she does consider Seon Ra her daughter.", says Mrs. Chae.

Huh. Whatever.

My mom starts to leave but from nowhere I say, "I will go."

Why did I say such a nonsensical thing!?

Both of them agree way too quickly. Why are they being so weird?

I go up to her room and knock.

"Come in.", she says followed by a sneeze.

"Mom, I am fine. Just go and enjoy.", she says from under the blanket.

I just stand there awkwardly not knowing what to say. What am I even doing here!?

I just go over and touch her hands to see if she is running a fever or not. She's burning.

She withdraws her hands quickly as she says, "What are you doing here!?"

"You're running a fever.", I say matter-of-factly.

She tries to get up but I don't let her.

"You should lie down."

"I am aware of what I should and shouldn't do. Please leave."

I grab both her hands as I say, "Why are you doing this?"

"Kicking you out? I don't know... because we broke up!?"

I get up to leave but she grabs my sleeve before saying, "Don't hate me too much."

Why does she keep confusing me?

Of course... I don't... hate her.

Chae Seon Ra

Why did I have to say this?

"I don't hate you.", he says looking everywhere but at me.

"You should."

"Stay put, I am getting you some medicine.", he says before leaving my room.

This can't be happening. I quickly get up and get dressed so that I can run away.

I make my way downstairs and see that mom has left with Mrs. Kim to get groceries for dinner.

"Where do you think you are going?", he asks grabbing my wrist as soon as I open the door.

I yank his hand away as I say, "Stop acting like you care. We both know you'd love to see me freeze out in the cold."

Even though I broke him first, he broke me back twice as much. At least I had a reason. I don't think I love him anymore; we were just a mistake.

"Get back here. Lie down, your mom will kill me if something happened to you on my watch. You're right, I don't care, but she does. So, get back here if you still love your mom."

I do love her so I get back inside.

"Now take this medicine and lie down. I will get you something to eat."
