Chapter 41

"I have nothing to say.", she says sitting on the sofa with her back towards me.

"But I do."

"Then go ahead say it."

I go sit beside her.

"I'm sorry for saying all that yesterday night. I know what you are trying to do and I am just in your way, like a thorn in your side."

I'm glad he at least realizes it finally.

"And I don't want to be in your way... so I think I should finally leave.", he continues to say.

I know that's what I want but it still stings to hear that.

"Well then leave.", I say with no emotions.

"I thought it must be easy to leave because you did it effortlessly but it is very hard for me. Guess it just shows the difference in the way we love.", he says spitefully.

"Why are you taking out your frustration on me? Can't you just leave peacefully, on a good note?"

"You won't even ask me not to leave... not even once? I mean what did I expect from you. You were right... you do have a cold heart."

"Just leave.", I say sighing as I get up to go to my room.

"I hope you suffer from our memories. I hope you never be happy.", he says through his teeth and it's a good thing my back is facing him because I'm pretty sure pain is written all over my face. Well, I wish him all the happiness in the world.

"Bye Seon Ra. I regret ever meeting you.", he says but I can hear his voice break.

And just like that... he leaves. We can't ever end on a good note, can we?

Halmeoni will be here soon and Ryujin will be coming in the evening, an hour before prom. I hate today already.

Since I have nothing to do, I just go and clean the dishes. As soon as I'm done, the bell rings.

It's halmeoni.

"You're here. How are you?", I ask.

"I'm fine. But you're not.", she says looking right through me.

"Why would you think that?", I say laughing it off.

She doesn't say anything and comes to hug me straight away. And I don't know when I start crying silently.

"What's wrong?", she asks softly.

"Nothing.", I say sniffling.

"It's him, isn't it?", she asks sighing.

She takes my silence as a yes.

It takes me a long time, but I eventually stop crying.

"Go and eat something now. I brought you your favorite.", she says pointing towards the kitchen.

"Where are you going?", I ask.

"I just need to finish up some work back home. I'll be back soon.", she says hugging me one last time before leaving.

Time to eat my feelings.

I need to return her dad's clothes. Since I obviously can't go back and face her, I'll just drop it off at halmeoni's. She's not home. I'll wait around for a while. I see her coming from Seon Ra's house, I'm glad she's with her.

As soon as she approaches, I say "Halmeoni I had to – "but before I can finish my sentence, she slaps me. It was a hard one indeed.

"Are you happy now? Does breaking her heart like that make you feel happy?", she shouts.
