Lettie's POV
This house has never been more silent. When I came down for breakfast he just stared at me. He didn't say anything, not even a good morning. I also keep quiet. Alexei looked at both of us and laughed. He then went on to read the newspaper loudly. He does that when Bryce and I are quiet. It made us both laugh but one laugh isn't enough to fix this problem.

He knows I want a baby. I have made it a song to the point I sound like a broken record and I have done it for four years. What has he done? He has assumed everything and how he wants time to get ready? What the hell? Even procrastinators are not this bad off! I can't help but feel there's something bigger in play.

"Mrs Romanov, you have visitors." The housekeeper informed me.

I didn't need to wait long to see my three friends making their way into the dining room.

"I brought chocolates and sweets." Sherry placed a whole box in front of me.

"I brought a tub of your favorite ice cream." Tessie added it to the table.

"I brought this." Yuki placed her daughter in my arms.

When the little girl smiled at me, I started crying. They all stared at Bryce and nit in a good way. He dropped his napkin on the table and walked out without saying anything. I heard the front door slum shut.

"The nerve! He just left!" Sherry exclaimed. "Should I go after him?"

"Leave him alone. He's not yours to bully into submission." Tessie told her.

"Not today." Sherry warned her.

"Guys, I love a good cat fight but not now." Yuki dried my eyes. "Today it's all about Lettie."

They seemed to agree because there was no more squabbles after that. We sat quietly in comfortable silence. Yumi is a pretty girl. She looks like Yuki in every way. It's like Gian Carlo didn't contribute anything to this genetic mash up. She took my fingers. "She's perfect. I absolutely love her."

"She's house trained." Yuki remarked. We stared at her and laighed. "What? She won't pee on you or your carpet. She also knows when to stop being a brat. She knows you need her to be nice. Right Yuki?"

She went on to speak to her daughter in Japanese.

"Do you know that when babies are exposed to multiple languages they tend to speak much later than children who have only been exposed to one language?" Sherry informed us.

"That's why I mostly speak to her in Japanese. The goal is that someday she won't understand a thing Gian Carlo will say to her. That will be a success I'll flaunt over."

"Couples therapy." Tessie told her. "It sounds like you two are really passive aggressive."

"You should go too. You're the one fighting with your baby daddy." It never stops. Sherry has started.

"That's none of your business ginger."

"I'm not the one knocked up and on the verge of homelessness. Maybe if you got a job and stopped living off Santi you would actually know what to do!"

The look on Tessie's face is one I have never seen before. Fact, she does live off Santi. He pays for the house. He pays the bills. He buys the food and necessities. He provides everything she wants and needs down to a generous allowance. He doesn't even live there. He probably had multiple arrangements like that. The guy is rich and money is not an issue but he has commitment issues that a baby won't fix.

"Ouch Sher!" Yuki grimaced. "Not cool. I live off Gian Carlo too. I depend on him for everything and that's why I out up with his S-H-I-T. Sometimes things are just complicated and not as black and white as you think. Not all of us have rich daddies to fund out existence."
