Bryce's POV
"How does a plane just disappear Alexei? Can you explain that to me?" I hit a bunch of papers off the office table. "Talk!"

He narrowed his eyes at me. "Perhaps you should reconsider the tone Bryce."

I ran my hand over my face. I paced a little back and forth. The plane left the airport and after that it disappeared. There's no sign of Yuri, the pilot or Lettie.

"I'm sorry. It's been twelve hours and I have no news. I have lost my patience. My wife is missing. Pardon me but I'm upset."

"And I'm not the one who is responsible, so don't take out your frustrations on me."

"Are you saying I'm responsible?"

"Bryce, it sounds like you are spoiling for a fight. I'm not in the mood to bicker like an old couple so don't." He told me flatly. "I have reached out to all our contacts. They are spreading the word. The plane won't be lost forever-"

"I don't care about the plane. I care about Lettie."

"And Yuri and the pilot I presume."

"Yes."

"I'll make more phone calls. Excuse me."

"Alexei, thank you. I'm sorry for going off on you."

"You're a walk in tbe park. Your father was way worse." He chuckled to himself and started whistling as he walked out. It's always the same creepy tune.

I sat in the high back leather chair and covered my face. I called her phone until it stopped going through. I'm worried about her. I'm actually beyond worried. .

"Bryce! Bryce!"

"In here!" I responded to Sherry.

She walked into the office with haste. Her pale face is slightly bruised. She looks like she was in a fight. "I came as soon as I could." She hugged me when I stood up. Her red hair is a wild mess. "Have you found her?

"No. I can't reach her on phone."

"Yeah. I have been calling her since I woke up."

"When was the last time you spoke to her?"

She scratched her head. "Uh... Hmmm... two days ago, give or take."

"Did she say anything that was out of the ordinary?"

"She was pissed because I was ghosting her."

"Why were you ghosting her?"

She gestured to her face. "I didn't want her asking me questions."

"May I ask hat happened? Is it Juan?"

Sh laughed with an adorable snort. She reached out to pull my nose. "Silly you! If Juan puts his hands on me, I'll bury him in an unmarked grave."

The fact that she's saying this with a smile is disturbing.

"The plane she was in us missing."

"Commercial?"

"Private. It landed at the airport and then it took off. No one has seen it. It's just gone."

Sherry got even paler. She rested against the desk. Juan joined us. "Hey man." We exchanged a quick shoulder bump. "Any news?"

"Her plane vanished. The only reasons planes disappear is if they sink to the bottom of the ocean. We need to start looking for debris... we should be out there!" Sherry freaked out.

"We don't even know where it went. No on knows anything. The cameras were conveniently not working at the time the plane was at the airport."

"So she went to Texas to see nonna. She came back and the plane actually landed at the airport. It took off again and no one knows where it is. Do I have it right?"
