Maddison's Pov.
"Nothing," I lie.
Rose looks at me for a moment, no doubt trying to figure out if I'm lying. Unlucky for her I am able to keep my heart steady. Elena sighed before heading over to a desk, "Looks like whoever blew up the coffee shop, found him, and killed him for his information." Rose walks over "Yeah, probably to stop him from helping people like us."
"The guy was like a vampire almanac, knowing too much information just bit him in the ass," she finished. "And knowing too little was his downfall as well," I mumbled. Rose glanced at me before shaking her head and walking over to the covered window, throwing the curtains open. Elena gasps "What are you-," "Tempered glass, U.V. Rays can't penetrate," Rose tells her.
"I used to just come here and watch the day," as Rose says this I decide to take a look around.
I come across a bedroom, a bathroom, and finally a photo room. The red light peeks through the black curtains. I carefully step inside and look at the different photos. I notice a particularly disturbing one, it's a picture of me and Lena. "Elena! Rose!" I feel a breeze against my back and hear Elena's footsteps. "What is it, Maddi?"
I snatch the photo off of the string and hand it to her. "It's me and you." Her eyes go wide as Rose looks at it from over her shoulder. "W-what?" I turn back around and look over the other photographs. "There's even more of them..." Elena, Rose, and I look through more of the photos and I continue to feel more sick. I was terrified, by the fact that someone was watching us without my knowing.
Time skip, brought to you by Maddison and Elena burning photographs
After throwing up, the three of us heard noises elsewhere in the apartment. We found a girl.
"Alice!" Rose exclaimed, she helped the girl out of a corner and sat her on the couch.
"You look really familiar, did you know Slater?" Stalker girl questions quietly. "Not personally, no," Elena says. "Be glad you never met him," I huff. Elena sighs, giving me a look. "I just knew that he kept a detailed record of all of his vampire contacts, and I was hoping that he could point me to Klaus."
"Doubtful," Alice scoffed. The one thing I agree with. That asshole doesn't even answer me, though I suppose he has no reason to. It's not like we've actually connected. Maybe he doesn't want a soulmate... maybe he just doesn't want me as his soulmate. "Klaus doesn't want to be pointed out," Alice finished looking at Elena. "Do you know Slater's computer password?"
"Are you seriously asking me that right now?" I roll my eyes, "Look you get us into that computer and Rose will turn you, understand?" Her head whips around in my direction "Promise?" I raise a brow, "If you don't agree right now then I will go into your mind and dig until I find it, and trust me you don't want that. When I'm angry I make things painful." She quickly nods her head.
We go to the computer, "The hard drives are completely wiped out," she mumbles, stating the obvious. "Yeah, probably by whoever killed him." Alice spins over to another monitor, "Lucky for you, Slater was paranoid." I raise a brow, seems a lot of things were wrong with this guy. "Everything's backed up on our remote server."
"You know that she's not going anywhere near my blood, right?" Rose asks me. I look at her with a smirk, "Of course I know that, but she doesn't," I whisper back. "Kristen Stewart, god was he obvious," she scoffs. "These are all links to vampires?" Elena questions. "Slater was obsessed, almost as much as me," she says winking at me. I frown in distaste, "Not something to be proud of."
"What about that one, Cody Webber?" Rose points to the screen. "We exchanged dozens of emails about Elijah," she continues. "I could call him," she looks at us for an answer. Elena hands her the phone, "Tell him that we are trying to send a message to Klaus. The Doppelganger is alive, and she's ready to surrender," she sighs. "What?!" Rose screeches.
"Oh my god, I knew I recognized you!" Alice squeals in delight. Rose pulls me aside "Did you know?" I sigh, "She didn't tell me directly, but yes I knew." Rose's eyes bug out, "And you were going to let her do this?!" I shake my head, "You wouldn't understand Rose. Just know that I would never stand back and let my sister die." She scoffs, "Listen, Rose, to Elena it's her or her family. She's not going to risk that. I'm not going to let her die, okay?! Just call Damon for me, alright? He'll be pissed if we don't let him know about this, just tell him not to worry. I've got this."
I walk away as Rose pulls her phone out to call Damon. "Elena we need to talk," I whisper harshly pulling her away from the desk. "Look we promised forever and always a year ago. We don't break promises, alright?" She shakes her head, "Maddi this is different-" I take her hands in mine, "No it's not. I'll fix everything, trust me?" She nods giving me a weak smile.
"Cody is on his way, and he really wants to meet you," Alice tells us practically skipping her way over. Suddenly there's a searing pain in my neck, and flashes of Kat draining Jer. Then a stinging in my right hand. Visions of Elijah and Dr. Martin, chanting ringing in my ears. Elena gasps from her spot at the window. Then a feeling of worry and fear, Caroline and Tyler. A video of Mason. Damnit these flashes are getting annoying. Thank the goddess they don't happen all the time.
