Wrong Time

I think there's something in my smile that lights up his face. It happened that very first day and it happens now - years later.

He wanted to say something.

Even I wanted to say something. That smile was all it took to wake up my sleeping emotions.

But I guess no matter how much he thought we were meant to be, the timing was not as it should be. Just as he was about to say something, two people shouted two different names.

"Kath!"

"DJ!"

And as our heads turned around, the connection got lost. My emotions went back to sleep while my bestfriend Julia asks incredulously why I'm still there.

I look at you one last time and I know you saw it in my eyes. You will never find me again.

Then, I walked away.

You had no choice but to let me.
