Chapter 30- innocent and doe eyed

Pov y/n-
Draco had snuck off somewhere, probably to try make things up to Eris. It was 12:16am and I was obsessively watching the clock, he'd been gone 22 minutes. Was he afraid of what I'd do, how I'd react once the potion wore off. It had been 16 minutes since it supposedly had worn off and I didn't feel any different. I tried to think of all the things he'd told me not to do, don't take drugs? Well I didn't have any on me to test that one. Not to argue back with him was the most recent one but again he wasn't here for me to test that either.

My hand was swiftly and roughly yanked, pulling me away from my friends and into the crowd of dancing couples. It took me a moment to gain my balance again before I realised who It was. Conners dark hair tickled my forehead, he was smiling down at me, touching our foreheads together. A smile managed to giggle its way onto my face.

"What are you doing here, I thought you couldn't stand things like this" I laughed out of joy again "I had to wait, till midnight. I couldn't bare to see you with him, I knew he'd make you come here with him" he laughed out and pulled me in a little tighter. Realisation struck me all at once. I could speak to Conner so the potion was definitely well and truly out of my system and that I couldn't be seen with anybody like this and definitely not Conner.

Stepping back quickly he gave me a confused look. I opened my mouth to speak and noticed I couldn't for a second. I had to suck in a deep breath and clench my jaw before managing out in a strong and convincing tone "he didn't make me come with him. He's my boyfriend, I love him. I wanted to be his date" I announce loud enough so everyone could hear, the words were sour in my mouth. With out Draco here and past midnight there would be no doubt to anyone that I meant what I said "but he-" Conner struggled out but I quickly interrupted "we all make mistakes, you were one of mine. You made me realise that I'd never love anyone the way I love him. I want you to leave me alone"

He grabbed my hand in a desperate attempt to try bring me back to sanity "y/n this isn't like you" I yanked my hand away with such force that I stumbled back away from him "get away from me Conner! You've known me for a week, you don't know what I'm like. Stay away from me" I demanded, but he was relentless "what has he done to you!" He stepped closer to me. Thats when I felt Draco slip his arm around me "she asked you to stay away from her" his deep gravely voice shook around the whole room making some people gasp.

"You're fucking ridiculous Malfoy, she's not your property" Conner Scoft "she's not yours either Conner! Give up, she doesn't want to be with you. You are nothing more then a drug tripped attempt to forget about me, it didn't work!" I clung onto Dracos arm  as he spoke, trying to seem subdued and in need of his protection "oh she let a lot more then my drugs in her body I'll promise you that Malfoy" Conner gloated making my stomach twist, he had this evil twinge to his face I'd never seen before.

Dracos arm hardened and I saw the muscles on his jaw and neck tighten. I let my fingers lace into his in an attempt to calm him down. His grip was so tight I almost screamed out in pain. Stepping a little forwards "I don't want a fight. Conner you were a mistake, don't make a fool out of yourself even more by starting something you can't finish" he laughed at my words then stopped for a moment.

"Fine but don't come crawling back to me when he uses and abuses you like the 2nd hand toy that you are" he spat at me, verbally and physically, he literally spat on the floor at my feet. This triggered Draco to spring into action. His fist exploded blood out of Conners face. He grabbed onto his collar holding him up then pulled back his fist again.

"Draco" I clawed at the back of his shirt to try bring him back to his senses. He stopped frozen for a moment then shook his head "you're a dead man" dropping Conners shirt he fell to the floor. Straightening up Draco grabbed my hand and escorted me out the hall. His temper was visible in his steps.
