Hey guys :)! The pic isn't mine. On to the story...
~~~~~~~~2 Years Later~~~~~~~
Trevor and I were on our way our way back to our old house to see if we could recover anything. We should have done it first after settling in, but we didn't have any time while training of course.
That's not the only reason though.
To be honest, I just didn't want to see the place that's been the source of my nightmares ever since I left.
They still haven't left me. Just when I think they're gone for good, they come back. Those voices, their screams; I think it's to remind me that I can't ever get rid of them.
I haven't told anyone about them really, not even Trevor. Uncle's pack members already walk on glass around me.
Besides, I have to be strong like Mom and Dad. They wouldn't want to see me sad, but rather moving on and living life to the fullest.
It's funny, even though I'm ten, I feel more grown up than ever.
Life just has a way of twisting fate around.
We hopped off the train and started down the familiar, dirt path. I thought I saw something out of the corner of my eye, but I when I went to look, I saw nothing.
That was kind of creepy.
I let my wolf side take over for a minute and I sniffed the air for any unusual scents. Everything smelled normal with no other scents. There was only the faint smell of lavender and roses, but those were from the abundant amount of wildlife.
As we continued down the path, I could smell the faintest scent of ashes, making my nose wrinkle in disgust. The house was only a little ways up ahead.
I tried my best not to cry, but it's so hard not to. To think that my parents and my best friend are gone forever.
I swallow the lump in my throat and wipe my eyes. Alphas don't cry, and I'm stronger than this.
Trevor and I continued and were nearly there to the burned remains of our home. Now that I'm older, I know who attached us that night. The Red Moon Pack, though they are few and mostly rogues, were the ones who killed our family and friend. At least no one wants to side with them. Uncle Leon said that not many packs liked what they are doing to other packs. They want power, and they'll kill anyone to get it. They wanted to kill the next alpha of the New Moon pack, but I'm still standing, and they're going to pay for everything they did to me and my loved ones.
We arrived fairly quickly to the house. I finally got to see a good look of the burned remains for the first time. I never got to see them as we were quickly taken to Uncle Leon's so that the Red Moon pack couldn't find us. After that, Uncle Leon thought it was best to keep us away in case they came back to find us.
It seems that most of the ashes had been blown away, but the metal and most of the structure still remained. I can see the metal door hinges hanging from the lone wood that used to be the doorway. It was similar to shadows of what was there. I could also see through the house and to the woods that were supposed to be our backyard.
I quickly set to work and ventured past the doorway of our old home, but I felt an intense stare on me. I turned around to face Trevor, thinking it must've been him, but he was busy looking through the ashes. I look to the woods and see something move in the bushes. I stood still as I tried to decipher what animal that could've been. I accidentally tripped forward as I was leaning over to see and the creature dashed off while flashing its fluffy tail. It sort of looked like a fox.
