Chapter 17: Hospitals and Training Sessions from Hell

Recap:

Just as the helmet was about to speak again, I could hear something rushing across the room. Two spikes went through the helmet, cutting through like it was a piece of butter. I watched in horror as the spikes were lifted up, with 48's helmet still attached, and two figures walked into the room.

"Well well, what's the Fullmetal pipsqueak and his little girlfriend doing here?"

I glared at the palm tree in a skirt. It was grinning madly as the woman twirled the helmet around her nails.

"He was innocent, why did you destroy his blood seal?" I spat. The woman crossed her arms, leaned back on her hip and tossed the helmet at my feet.

"He was talking too much. We can't have him revealing our secrets you see. Envy, take care of the other one."

So the palm tree has a name. Envy grinned madly and skipped over to 48's brother.

"Big brother!! B-Big Brother! Dammit, we can still fight! Give us a body...give us a new body! Give us-"

I watched in horror as Envy picked up a discarded sword and stabbed the blood seal, over and over.

"Geez! Do you realize that the two of you almost killed our precious human sacrifice? You don't have any clue what that means don't you? Just shut up already!"

48's brother weakly clawed at the air as he was being destroyed. But Envy didn't even stop with his actions after he stopped moving. I weakly clapped my hands and set one on the ground in front of me. The ground beneath Envy rose suddenly, and threw him back, away from the piece of armor.

"He's already dead you asshole." I shot at him. Envy looked at me curiously, and I could just feel dread wash over me. Something about him just wasn't right, and my wolf senses were on fire telling me to get the hell away. Ed grabbed my hand and held tight as Envy grinned at me and strolled over to kneel in front of us.

"Oh so we got a little fighter here, eh? I gotta hand it to you guys for making it this far, but you did see something that you shouldn't have. Maybe I should kill you both after all." He looked at Ed and then me, and I could feel my heart pounding against my chest. Now that I'm closer, I know why he scares me.

He's not human. I can feel it.

Well, if I'm going down, I'm going down swinging. I slowly rose to my feet, letting the wall support me. There was a large puddle of blood on the wall and the floor from where I previously sat, but I paid no mind to it. I was about to throw a punch, but Ed beat me to it, throwing a kick at Envy.

"Bummer! I was hoping we wouldn't have to fight. Alright short guy, show me what you and your girlfriend got."

"QUIT CALLING ME SMALL!"

"HE'S NOT MY BOYFRIEND!"

We both shouted at the same time as we clapped our hands. I shot out fire at Envy, who bounced back and dodged my columns of fire.

"I'LL BEAT YOU SO BAD YOU'LL WISH YOU NEVER-" Ed tried to transmute his automail, but it fell limply to his side. Well, dammit.

"Seriously Ed, right when you need it, it breaks? We just got the freaking thing fixed too!" I snapped at him and he looked at me sheepishly.
