I woke up to someone shaking my shoulder. I opened my eyes, squinting because it was really bright. I could smell Trevor's familiar scent coming from beside me, so I tried my hardest to glare in his direction.
Only problem, the sun decided to blind me. Geez, I need to write a book about all the problems and troubles that us wolf shifters have.
I can see it now; Chapter 1: How Daylight Will Eventually Blind Us and Get Us Killed.
"Alexis, get up. We're here."
I finally sat up and rubbed my eyes. I saw that Edward had moved to sit beside Alphonse's box on another bench, allowing me to lay down. Aw, well isn't he sweet!
I stood up and grabbed my suitcase from the carry-on compartment above us and made my way off the train with the others either in front of me or behind me.
The train station didn't really feel like a train station. Only a few people were littered around and the whole station was so small compared to the other places I've been.
We walked along and it seemed that everyone knew Edward and Alphonse. Everybody said hi or gave a nod of welcome back. It must be a really small town then huh?

We were finally walking up the hill that lead to Edward's house. It was tiring, considering that we had to walk a few miles from the train station to get here. It was also difficult because of Trevor's wheelchair on the rocky and dirt paths so we ended up having Armstrong carry him.
Suddenly, I saw a black and white dog bound up to us. His front left paw was entirely automail, but he was as graceful as any other dog. So cute!
He came up to Edward's side and practically jumped on him.
"Woah! Easy there, Den!"
Edward laughed as the dog jumped all over him. Just how long has Ed been away from home? Well dogs miss anyone even when they go to the market for a day so I don't really know the answer to that.
Den looked at the rest of us, and I saw him tense up when he smelled me. He let out a low growl and stood protectively in front of Edward. He probably smelled my wolf scent, no biggie.
"Just ignore him. He doesn't get along with visitors right away."
Edward waved it off and continued to walk towards the house with Den walking beside him, occasionally glancing back at me.
And here I thought that me and Den would get along. I guess we can't have that dog-to-dog bond.
We reached the house in no time. Ed was busy playing with Den, so I walked up to the door and knocked. A short, old woman answered the door and looked at us questioningly.
"Who are you?"
"I'm Alexis Stone, the Flame Wolf Alchemist. Edward brought us because he needs his automail fixed."
The woman nodded slowly, taking it all in, before looking behind me to see Edward.
"It seems your friends need repairs as well. Ah Ed, long time no see. You've certainly grown shorter."
Ed immediately had an irked face and stormed up to the old woman. Wow Ed, so mature trying to hurt your grandma. Isn't there anyone normal around here?
"Granny...you've got it wrong. You're supposed to say 'how big you've grown lately, Ed.'"
"But why should I say something that isn't true?"
I chuckled lightly to myself as Ed and his granny started to bicker. Kat seemed to be zooming back an forth everywhere just looking at everything with interest. Somehow, she even got on the roof!
