On August 12, SM Entertainment announced on Bubble that NCT's LEIA tested positive for COVID-19.
The statement explained that Leia experienced sudden abdominal pain, along with a mild sore throat, on August 11 in the afternoon. After noticing his symptoms, Leia visited a hospital emergency room for a thorough examination. After the examination, LEIA was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and was tested positive for COVID-19.
She underwent successful surgery following physician advice early morning on August 12 and is currently recuperating. She is receiving in-patient treatment and, although she is currently experiencing a mild sore throat, is making a speedy recovery.
It has been over a month since LEIA returned to the music industry and has been working on promoting her recently released mini-album, God is a woman. Despite being in South Korea, ever since she released her mini-album, she has been staying over at her own apartment, alone. LEIA had no contact with the other members during the infectious stage.

We would like to provide you with the following information regarding the current health status of NCT member LEIA.
LEIA experienced sudden abdominal pain along with a mildly sore throat on August 11 in the afternoon. She visited a hospital emergency room for a thorough examination, and also took a PCR test. LEIA was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and was tested positive for COVID-19. She underwent surgery following physician advice early morning on August 12.
According to the medical staff, the surgery was successful and LEIA is currently recuperating after his procedure. She will be receiving a few days of in-patient treatment for COVID-19 in conjunction with postoperative care. She is currently experiencing a mild sore throat but is making a speedy recovery, and had no contact with the other members during the infectious stage.
The company places the artists' health as our top priority, and we will do everything we can to aid LEIA in her speedy recovery. We will also diligently cooperate with the requests and guidelines of the health care authorities.
