LILY Will Give A Speech At the 77th United Nation General Assembly

Ever since Lily skyrocketed to stardom and captured the world's heart, she has used her fame to improve education, fight sexism, and fight racism. Now, her status as a global changemaker has been approved by the president of South Korea.

Just in a span of 2 years, Lily has brought fame and attention towards the treatment towards women where the world is still stigmatized by the phrase, "Women should stay at home, clean, cook, care." Lily, however, has brought light worldwide, especially to the women out there.

The president of South Korea has appointed Lily to take her first assignment: taking the global stage at the UN General Assembly.

LILY will be accompanying the first lady of South Korea to the UN conference in New York, where she will represent global women at the UN Sustainable Development Goals meeting.

"LILY has greatly raised the national dignity by enhancing using music and entertainment of K-Pop and Korean culture, and I am grateful in many ways," said President Moon on her recent musical accomplishments.

LILY recently topped charts with her recently released single, You Need To Calm Down. A week after the release of the single, it topped #1 in more than 50 countries including Billboard Hot 100. LILY also won the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards for Female Artist of The Year which is the main prize.

The female, who has been described as "great help diplomatically" by Moon, will attend the 77th session of the UN General Assembly next week together with BTS where they will speak at the SDG Moment of the Decade Action on Monday. The SDG Moment reinforces and highlights urgent goals related to poverty, education, environmental protection, gender equality, and hunger.

This year's moment will also address COVID-19 recovery efforts and help build momentum for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development ahead of upcoming global conferences.

"I've always thought about whether I could repay all the love I have received and give back at the same time. I am honored that the president has given me such a great opportunity and I'll work harder," said Lily.

"As LILY has delivered messages to comfort and hope and motivate not only women but also people around the world, her attendance at the UN General Assembly this time is expected to serve as a meaningful opportunity to expand communication with women no matter of age around the world and draw their concern on major international issues," Cheong Wa Dae, the executive officer of the president, said in a statement.

Moon has repeatedly expressed his gratitude and praised Lily for her positive influence and impact. The first lady, Kim Jung-Sook, also spoke about Lily's global presence and natural diplomacy.

She said, "We already have BTS as our male representative. And now we only need a female and we've found the most suitable young lady to represent our country."

Lily will take the global stage again on Sept. 25 at Global Citizen Live, as part of our 24-hour, global broadcast to defend the planet and defeat poverty. Tune in as she joins over 70 artists, activists, and advocates in the call to unite the world, and join them in taking action.
