"Amiya, he's waking up now."
A female Feline with gray hair and blue eyes wearing the Rhodes Island standard medic outfit, nervously says to Amiya, a female with bunny ears wearing the Rhodes Island coat that fits her teenage-like body quite comfortably, who is pacing around the room until she hears the Feline.
"Really?"
"Yes, for real."
Amiya rushes over to the Feline, who is fiddling around a device next to the pod that contains a male body with something sticking out of his head. She stands over it, with her hand clasp while muttering hopeful words to herself as she gazes at the body.
His fingers are the first to move, twitching with small movements, then his eyes shake like it's forcing themselves to open up. A few minutes go by, and the twitching stops with the body going slack.
Amiya gasps before launching herself to the body and hugging it, "Nonononono, doctor, please don't go. We need you; I need you, please come back to us."
While Amiya is weeping while hugging the body and the Feline checking the vital stats beside the pod, a portal materializes above them that spews out the figure.
It shakes its head before realizing there are other people with it in the room. The body suddenly emits a pale blue light, apparently invisible to Amiya and Feline as they don't notice it.
Slowly, another ghost-like male figure emerges out from the body and turns his head to the figure floating above. His face morphs into shock before looking down at himself then at him again, seeing that he has the same physical appearance as him, except for the horns and hair color; whereas he is brown, the figure's hair is black.
His face then morphs into an expression of rage before turning around to look at his body, then he raises his hand. His hand, which was about to touch, suddenly flings back while the expression shifts into agony. He then feels a tug at his body, which only gets stronger until he feels something dragging him upwards. As he passes by the figure, he reaches a hand to it, with his expression full of horror, grief, longing, and other emotion that the figure can't figure out. He opens his mouth, just as half of his body remains in the room. He says something but nothing comes out, so he decides to instead lift his middle finger up to the figure, as if blaming it for everything, before finally disappearing through the wall.
The figure shrugs to itself, before looking at the body then he feels a force pulling his body. It widens it's eyes before looking at the body that rapidly closes into it, or rather the figure rapidly closing to the body.
Before it could even begin to try and free itself from the force, the body had already consumed the figure.
He opens his eyes and gasps while rising to a sitting position with his hands pressed to his head, knocking Amiya down to the ground, who didn't expect the presumed dead body to move.
"Doctor!" Amiya shouts as she wipes her eyes while getting up. The doctor barely hears the voice through the pain assaulting his body, but gazes at Amiya.
The moment their eyes cross each other, Amiya lets out a groan as she feels a sudden spike of pain inside of her, while the doctor squeezes his eyes shut. The Feline rushes over to Amiya to check on her but finds no injury, perplexed she takes out a canister and opens the lid.
"Amiya, drink this; it might help with whatever made you groan like that."
"No need, I'm alright now." Amiya gently turns down the Feline, before gazing at the doctor, who is looking at her with squinted eyes.
"Who are you?" Doctor asks in a raspy voice while dropping his arms, the pain beginning to subside. Although, there is a lingering headache that refuses to go away which further annoys him.
"Doctor? It's me, Amiya. Your lovely boss?" The Feline glances at Amiya with a shock, never before hearing her say that until now. The latter doesn't notice the glance, only choosing to focus on the doctor.
"Amiya..? Sorry, I don't remember you..." Doctor says with a slightly less raspy voice. The Feline hands over the canister to the doctor when she notices the tone.
"Here, drink this. It's just plain water." Doctor grabs the canister and gulps it all down in record time. He hands back the canister to the Feline, who has a small sweat drop and an awkward smile.
"Thank you." He lightly smiles at her.
"Not a problem..."
Amiya takes the opportunity to clasp the doctor's hand, bringing his attention back to her, "Doctor, do you really not remember me...?" She mutters, barely heard by the doctor.
"I'm sorry but I do not know you..." He stops, looking quite unsure before telling them, "Actually... I don't remember anything. My name, my job, my life; literally nothing."
Amiya gasps as well as tightens her hold, while the Feline narrows her eyes at the doctor but not before shooting a questioning gaze at Amiya, "Amnesia? While I would love to scan you right now to see if your brain is damaged, we need to go back to Rhodes Island for the equipment. Amiya, come on; we need to go now."
"Ah yes." Amiya nods at the Feline, before looking at the doctor, eyes filled with pity, horror, and something else that the doctor can't identify, "Come on, we need to leave and go back to our home."
"...Um, Amiya, are you ok? You've been acting weird after that groan."
"Hmmm? How so?"
"The words, the touching, the atmosphere... It isn't like you to do all of them."
"Really... Ah." Amiya lets out an adorable squeak as she looks down before bringing her hands to cover her face while her cheek begins to redden considerably. The doctor lifts his hand to Amiya, before blinking and notices the hand outstretched.
He drops the hand back down before deciding he had enough of the pod. He puts his arm on the side and uses it as a support to lift his leg over it. The action leaves him panting and aching as his body is using too much energy for such simple action.
Feline notices the doctor and hurries over to him, "Ah, doctor; you shouldn't be getting up so suddenly. You were frozen until we came here and thawed you out, so please take it easy."
Doctor blinks before widening his eyes, "I'm sorry, I was fucking frozen?!"
"Ah... Maybe we should have told you that first."
Doctor doesn't say anything, but his eyes tell everything he needs while twitching, which makes Feline awkwardly chuckles while looking away due to the glare.
Amiya in the meantime has gotten her blush under control and is now taking deep breaths, before turning to look at the doctor, "We will tell you everything when we get back to Rhodes Island, but for now, please trust us that we are not your enemy."
Doctor nods his head before trying to give a smile, though he can only give a small one, "Ok. I'll trust you," He stops himself before his smile changes into a mischievous smirk, "My Lovely Boss."
Amiya's blush returns with a vengeance as the redness has spread to her side ears and she looks down. Feline is looking at the scene with a deadpan and sweat drops at them as she feels like a third wheel that tagged along with a couple.
Feline coughs quite loudly, and the other two turn their attention to her, "Can we please move along? I know we brought along a few of our elite operators for this mission, along with most of the squads, but this is still Chernobog; Ursus Empire territory. I don't want to be here any longer than necessary." She gives out an exasperated sigh at the end.
"Ah yes! V, come here and help me carry Doctor Ashura." Amiya turns to the doctor, giving him a radiant smile, "That's your name, doctor."
"Ashura... I like that name. Yeah, call me Ashura." Doctor, now identified as Ashura, nods, liking the name as time goes on.
"Ah but be prepared if all of us call you doctor. You had asked everyone to call you that until everyone almost forgot about your real name..."
Ashura sweat drops, "Haha... But, please try to call me Ashura now..."
Amiya gives a cheeky smile, "No promises, Ashura."
A warm atmosphere grows between them, while the other person just sighs while facepalming at them.
