Twenty Two

After the proposal in Monaco and before heading back to the factory to prepare for Azerbaijan, Nicky took Frankie on a little romantic getaway to Paris, to celebrate their engagement together. Once they got engaged in Monaco, they celebrated with all the other drivers by having a massive party, at one of the local restaurants Charles had recommended. 

Paris was amazing! The newly engaged couple went to see the Eiffel tower, the Louvre, went to a riverboat trip down the River Seine but with Nicky knowing how much Frankie liked Disney, he took her to Disneyland Paris on the last day of their trip, before heading back to the UK and heading back to work.

The afternoon that Nicky and Frankie got back to the UK, they had a small gathering at Sir Frank's house, because he wanted to celebrate the engagement, with just close family at home and Frankie loved it because she was able to spend some quality time with her grandad because his health hasn't been that good recently, but has promised his granddaughter that he will go to Silverstone to be with the team that weekend and is going to be accompanied by his daughter. Claire had tears in her eyes during the little gathering because she is just so proud of how far her daughter has come and how well she is managing the team and that she has finally found someone who loves her for who she is. Frankie's stepdad Marc is proud of her because he has seen her grow up, mainly through her teenage years, but loves her like she's his own flesh and blood.

Still, at my grandfather's house, I get up off of the sofa and walks into the kitchen and stands by the sink and looks out the big window that looks out to the garden. Then I feel arms snake around my waist and chin lay on m shoulder and I turn to see my fiance there and that made me smile. "Why are you in here? Shouldn't you be in the other room?" Nicky asks. "I just needed a moment away from my thoughts" I replied. "What have you been thinking?" he said to me. "I've been thinking that we should get married at Silverstone, while my grandad is there. Because his health isn't that good, it would mean a lot to me and I will definitely mean a lot to my grandad as well. Since I was a young girl, I've always wanted my grandad to give me away at my wedding and I want that to happen because if it didn't, it would break my heart" I said, with tears in my eye. My fiance pulls me into a tight hug and then looked me in the eye. "We will get married at Silverstone. After the race, outside the Williams garage. Let me talk to your mum and see what she thinks of the idea because then we can have all our friends and the fans can be there as well" He said in a soft voice and I nodded in response and he went off to go and talk to my mum. As I was still standing in the kitchen, I could hear my mum kind of scream with excitement at the idea of me wanting to get married at Silverstone, outside the Williams garage in the pitlane. Even my grandad liked the idea. It was the idea that was going to make that race weekend extremely special for me, Nicky, the Williams racing team and the Williams family. 

I know that tomorrow is back to the factory to prepare for the upcoming race in Baku, Azerbaijan. I know there is going to be lots of paperwork to sort through and to make sure that it is complete. But I et George has done something stupid for when me and Nicky arrive at work tomorrow morning, like having a massive banner over the main entrance saying 'congratulations'. But I won't mind.
