"That is something I didn't expect to happen to me within my territory. Let's forget about that. The moment I left was also the time I abandon that memory."

-- now that's not a good sign.

-- you need therapy.

Cale just sighed and decided to ignore them again, letting them have a conversation with one another. Meanwhile, he starts cleaning the kitchen, as well as the tools he used, before going straight to his room.

-

It was still dawn when Cale woke up by a loud knock on his door. There he sees his swordsmanship's teacher, the mercenary king, standing in front of his room while grinning.

"Good morning, kid!"

"Good morning, I guess?"

What is good in the morning if it gets disturbed too early. Nah, he is not in no position to complain when he is the one to ask for the Mercenary King's guidance.

"Change your clothes to training clothes and we will evaluate your skills. See you downstairs."

He did what was told to do and immediately went to the first floor to see Bud waiting on him in the door, way down to the underground training area. It is quite spacious despite having it underground.

"You must be wondering why it is located here."

'No, I'm not.'

"Why is it?"

"Since you will be living here from now on, I want to inform you about this important thing. Never ever grab too much attention, to the point you will gain the enemy's attention."

"Enemy?"

"Some organizations that are up to no good."

Now you said something even more confusing, he thought as he looked at the man as if understand something. But, he will make sure to remember that.

"For sure you wouldn't do something like that, right? Then let's go back to our little test!"

"You said you will evaluate my skills, right?"

"Yes. To do that, you need to fight me."

"I will lose before I even have a chance to attack."

"I will match my strength and speed close to yours. Now, let's start."

Cale tightly held the wooden sword that Bud threw to him the moment they entered the training field.

It was at that moment when Bud disappeared on his spot only to appear above him.

Cale can feel himself shaking as he block the strike the other man did. He is quite thankful that he didn't think that Bud will go easy on him, by that he is able to prepare himself for Bud's heavy attack.

"Nice defence. Try to block this one."

Bud then attacks him again but this time, a kick on his back.

Cale didn't expect him to go from behind, so he got sent flying before he managed to block the man's kick.

He immediately went back to proper stance and prepared for the older man's attack.

'Never mind the defence, let's just attack heads on.'

He is already familiar with how heavy Bud lands an attack. So when he saw Bud coming for an attack once again, he also run towards the man to clash with the man's wooden sword while trying to match Bud's strength.
