Doomed to marry a god but not really doomed 💜

I got this idea from a tik tok :D

You live in a small village, one that is ruled over a powerful god named (Best friend)/(Crush). However, your village isn't well off because of how divided the people there are. It seems as though your god has abandoned you all because of everyone's selfish acts, so fights over resources and raw materials are common.

You assumed all hope was lost, that you and your family would be doomed to live short lives before dying of starvation, or even murder.

But then, a shining light came in, and your village's god has appeared.

They demand for the fairest person in the village to be sent to them, to become their spouse and join them as a god. In return, they'll bless the village will plentiful crops and minerals for them to use. They had a time limit of 5 days.

The god disappears and everyone scrambles to find the fairest person in the village. After negotiations and fighting for the first 2 days, it's decided that (character)'s sister is the fairest in the village (if they don't have a sister then it's a toxic close friend)

(Sister)/(toxic best friend) doesn't want to be sacrificed and taken away, but they got an idea. They look similar to (character), so they coerce them into pretending to be them and then taking their place. Due to their manipulation, you agree, and spend the rest of the remaining days practicing to be them.

The day comes and you're dressed up as (sister)/(toxic best friend), and the god arrives in a carriage. They look you up and down, and decide that you are a fitting spouse for them.

They get in their carriage and ride away, and the god reveals that they knew (character) wasn't the original sacrifice. They were going to take whoever they could get but preferred (character) over the original sacrifice because of their selfless nature.

They also learn that the god was really just wanting some company but didn't know how to go about it, so now (character) is here, in a giant godly palace, soon to become a god, and is basically having a slow burn with (best friend)/(crush). Will they just be close friends? Or will they be lovers? You get to decide my friend, so have fun.
