Chaos erupted within minutes with us swapping hits until our ship connected with his. James then took the opportunity to jump over sword in hand fighting anyone getting in the way.

"Come out you coward! Face me like a real man!" James taunted

Blackbeard then grunted pulling out his weapon. Each side stopped fighting watching their captains getting ready to fight. This is all that mattered now and will determine the fate of the losing side.

"I'll give you one chance boy to get off my ship.''

"Not happening.''

"Then prepare to die."

James was young for a captain but when he was just a boy his grandfather would always teach him how to fight. He even got James his first sword. So young and a natural with his weapon. Passion to follow in his family's footsteps then just made him more persistent to be the best.

But Blackbeard was no fool. His age showed with his knowledge of how to fight. Hit, stab, block, repeat. Until James gained the upper hand slashing Blackbeard's hand and making him drop his sword.

"Any last words?"

"Just...who said this was a sword fight?"

Blackbeard pulled a small pistol aiming it right at James' head.

"You may be able to stab me but not as fast to avoid a bullet between your eyes."

Weighing his options and none satisfied him. He couldn't lose his chance nor could he die. He promised Jenny his return. He saw only one option for a second before lowering his sword slightly.

"You're right, I'm not faster than a bullet."

He grabbed the pistol and pushed it away from his face as Blackbeard pulled the trigger. James took a second to register the ringing in his ear to grab his sword stabbing Blackbeard in the stomach.

"Should've taken the shot between my eyes when you had the chance."

Blackbeard gasped in shock as his life flashed before his eyes.

"I won Blackbeard, your reign of terror and riots have come to the end by my blade. Your treasure is mine as your legacy has ended."

Blackbeard only smirked.

"You're so young, do you even know...what...you've done?" Blackbeard gasped.

James just blinked in confusion.

"You have just become the murderous Captain Hook."

    "I'm nothing like you."

"Says the man with his sword in my abdomen for my treasure. Watch your back Hook because the villains don't get very far and you've just become one. What you just did comes with a price and I hope you are ready to pay up.

When James pulled out his sword, he watched the captain drop to his knees as blood poured out from his wound and his words still swirling in his mind.

The crew cheered as Blackbeard's men surrendered. James
was still reeling from the win as he watched his sword fall from his hand. James has killed others before but never a captain. James believed in parlay and surrender. His father was more ruthless and didn't need the leftovers from other ships they'd beaten. But his grandfather was more giving unless they gave him no other choice. But a villain? James thought himself a hero because Blackbeard would kill for fun.

     "Captain, your hand!"

He watched his hand lose its color as all feeling was becoming numb.

"Dock us to the closest city Smee while I count our loot."

James then ripped his shirt to bandage his hand.

The tales of Blackbeard's treasure were not false as his chests were filled to the top with gold and silver. The find was marvelous but not as fulfilling as he thought it would be. Whenever his grandfather told him stories, he thought he'd feel something. He was happy for sure but more about how his father wouldn't be hunting him down.

"Land Captain, we'll find you a doctor."

    "Thank you, Smee."

    "Anything else we could do?"

    "Like what?"

"Maybe send a letter or something?"

The crew only knew snippets around the girl. But no one knew her like Smee. He was the first mate after all and someone you could trust.

As a pirate, people will come after the ones you love because they are your weakness and anyone ruthless enough will come after them to break you down.

"Something short Smee. Thank you. "

He just nodded and rushed out.

James then opened the compass as the dial was spinning around. It then pointed South towards the island where Jenny was.

  "I'm coming home, Jenny."
