Jenny's POV

It was getting harder to breathe nowadays where she had the doctor living with the family. Some days she would wake from the lack of oxygen coughing up blood. Her body was always cold even though she's been sweating. Her color drained and her hair thinned.

She would smile for Ella but she could tell her mother wasn't getting better.

Ella rushed in after her afternoon on the hill waiting for her father. Jenny still hoped as well but was too weak to walk out with her daughter.

    "Maybe tomorrow," Ella said.

It was always tomorrow but she could only hope he'll come back for Ella.

She hugged her daughter always remembering the good times before her sickness. It was those types of memories that made her fight a little longer. But she could feel it all slipping and it could be her last.

"Remember darling, stay true in hope, happiness, and faith. Be kind to others, even if they aren't so kind to you because good always comes to the ones that are kind."

"Who comes to those who are kind mother?"

    "Fairy godmother's of course."

    "They're real?!"

Jenny just smiled.

    "I believe so dear."

Ella smiled hugging her mother.

Jenny then hummed her lullaby playing with her daughter's hair and lulling her to sleep.

Jenny's eyes were slowly dropping and her chest started constricting. She did not panic to alert her daughter, but she just stared at her so peacefully and happy. Jenny's last person she will see and her last words to.

    "I love you, Ella."

It was all slow motion with her hearing still strong but she could no longer move. But she could feel a cold breeze next to her where Ella was. She heard the doctor ordering others out while he tried waking her up. He was calm at first to reassure little Ella but then frantically worked when she was out.

She could feel pressure around her chest while he softly asked her to wake up.

     "Please Jenny, not today."

But she could already see the light at the end of the darkness. Even if she woke, it wouldn't be for long-only avoiding the inevitable.

      Please come back home

It was a whisper to no one anymore. She would never know if he was alive or dead. Only just hoping her daughter had someone as her parents were no longer there.

That is the only regret she had and held on for as long as she could. But looking back, she just wished she could've convinced him to stay. The end of her time was a definite, but his leaving could've been changed. If only magic could turn back the clock to that one day. But death is forever and nothing can bring them back.
