*TIME SKIP TO MAY THE NEXT YEAR*

Months passed, and nothing had changed. Minho and Chan were still together, never growing tired of each other. Dr. Baek brought up that she noticed a lot of improvement in Chan's demeanor, complimenting him on how happy he seemed the past few times she'd seen him. She had finally taken him off of the Xanax, thinking that he no longer needed it, which Chan was thankful for, of course.

"So tell me, how have things been going with Minho?"

Chan had been talking about Minho nonstop every session they had. While Dr. Baek wanted to make progress on other things, she knew that Chan was ecstatic about his relationship. She found a way to maneuver his thought process to get him to talk about other things than Minho while simultaneously allowing him to talk about him.

Chan smiled at just the thought of the angel. He really had become a whole different person when it came to him. "Amazing. It's been great with him. It's coming up on a year since I met him in a few months, I think."

"Oh? You never told me when or how you met."

She did the math in her head, noting that it was also coming up on a year of Chan seeing her. Maybe there was some kind of connection, or maybe it was a coincidence. Whatever the case may be, she hoped to get some explanation.

Chan tilted his head to the side, not sure how to bluff the whole angel thing. "Oh, really? I thought I had. We met at one of the church services. He was a new member."

There we go. He played that off well.

"Wasn't he the friend that went missing a while ago? He was living with you, but you didn't know him that well?"

Well... maybe he didn't play it off as well as he thought he had.

"Um... yeah, he was," Chan slowly nodded, trying to come up with some sort of excuse. "When he first showed up at the church, he was still living with his parents. But then he came out to them, and it didn't go well, so he came to me for help, and I helped him."

"But I'm still not understanding why you let him move in so quickly if you hadn't known him that long. Was there a reason for that?"

He was pulling answers out of his ass at this point, but he knew that whatever he said would have an impact on how she viewed him and his mental state, so he couldn't say anything outrageous. "It was supposed to be temporary until he found a job, but then we just started getting along, and one thing led to another, and here we are." He laughed nervously, trying to play it off as joy.

She slowly blinked at him, not amused. "Chan," she sighed, leaning forward. Chan began to grow even more neurotic, not sure what she was about to say, but clearly, it wasn't anything good. "I'm sure I'm not the first person to tell you this, but you're a terrible liar. What really happened?"

She had known the whole time that he was bluffing, but she hadn't said anything to see just how far he would take it before breaking, and to her surprise, he didn't break. She figured that she was going to have to end his fun if he wouldn't do it himself.

"I-" Chan was left speechless, not sure how to respond. Well, she was good at her job, that was for sure.

"Is there a reason that you don't want to tell me about how you met?" She asked, noticing the astonishment and sort of fear on his face. She sat back in her chair, trying not to intimidate him too much that he stopped responding altogether.

He wasn't sure if he should tell her about Minho being an angel. How would she respond to that? Would she think he was insane? Would she put him in a mental hospital? He realized that he was overthinking, but then again, was he really?
