After the therapy session with Dr. Baek, Chan looked back on everything that had happened in the past month since Minho arrived. He had a lot of reflecting to do. Sure, maybe Dr. Baek had guided him on part of it, but he needed to look at everything. How did he genuinely feel about everything that happened, starting from when Minho came into his life.
He was sat on the living room couch with his legs crossed, thinking back. The first time he heard Minho's voice while praying, he was terrified, understandably so. It was loud and came out of nowhere. The second time was the very next day after Jisung had done confession. Once again, it terrified him and caused him to be in the position he was now, seeing Dr. Baek. Maybe it was a good thing in disguise since he was getting the help he needed for a long time that he just pushed to the side. It was a blessing and a curse. After that, he had grown used to Minho chiming in here and there, but he still wasn't a fan of him.
Then, Minho started coming to church and living with Chan. That was when he thought everything started going downhill, but when he actually thought about it, looking back, things had gotten much better. Sure, there were times that he got annoyed with the angel, but that would happen with any roommate. But he realized that he had actually been genuinely happy around Minho a lot of the time for some reason.
"What're you doing?" Minho asked quietly, startling Chan out of his thoughts. He sat down on the chair adjacent to the couch, not wanting to make Chan any more annoyed with him than he already was. He was still being cautious around the priest since he wasn't sure where he stood at the moment.
Chan looked at him for a few seconds, studying the angel, before responding. "Reminiscing," he stated plainly.
"About what? Before I was here?"
Chan shook his head, his eyes wandering to a random spot on the floor. "No, actually. About when you showed up."
This took Minho back. He was not expecting that answer. "Why?"
Chan shrugged. "I think..." Was now the time he was going to actually express his emotions to Minho? His genuine emotions? "I think that I do like you being here. A lot." It was half-hearted, but it was something. He hoped that this simple statement would at least rebuild the bridge they had burned.
"Oh? Really?" Minho didn't want to get his hopes up, but hearing Chan's words made him giddy inside.
"Yeah. Really. You're not as bad as I made you out to be," he confessed, looking back up at Minho. Minho smiled at the comment, extremely happy that Chan was at least glad that Minho was there. Even if his feelings still weren't reciprocated, he didn't care. Just as long as Chan was happy. With him. "Oh, um... I was wondering. I know how much you like to attend church services. Did you want to start doing some of the readings? Maybe get involved a little bit."
"Can I really?" Minho was excited to hear this. Chan was right about him enjoying the services, but actually being a part of them would've made Minho a million times more excited to show up.
"Yeah," Chan nodded. "I can write a request for you to do some. I don't know when it would get fulfilled, but I can try to make it as quick as I can."
"I would love to! Thank you, Channie!" Minho squealed excitedly with one of the most enormous smiles painting his face Chan had seen. He was very clearly happy to have the offer. Chan was glad to make the angel happy with something as simple as an offer to read at the church. Seeing Minho this happy made his heart warm and skip a beat. He just looked so cute as he waved his fists in the air a tiny bit with the large smile on his face.
He smiled and nodded. "Yeah. It's the least I can do for ignoring you these past few days."
'He acknowledged it,' Minho thought. There was something about Chan admitting to his fault so nonchalantly that made Minho feel at ease and safe with him. Chan noticed that he wasn't as stiff in his seat any longer and was finally relaxed. That's all it took—him admitting his wrongdoing. "Thank you," Minho smiled, now having calmed down a bit.
