The sun had just kissed the world goodnight and slowly the moon and the stars began their descent. Another day had gone by and just like every other night the city of Chicago and The Herondale household witnessed the beauty of the nightlife. But this night was unlike any other night for tonight The Herondale's would mark the beginning of a new life, the beginning of a new era, and all of Chicago would live to tell its tale.

Esther, The Herondale's nanny, and life-long housekeeper roamed the house with a frown on her face as she went in search of the little mistress. Esme's favorite prank was to run away and hide in some part of the mansion every time she heard that she would have to dress up and leave the mansion, today was no exception.

"Dear God, where could she have gone this time?" Esther wondered to herself out loud as she searched the corners, under the tables, and even inside every available drawer. As a four-year-old Esme was able to fit her little body into whatever hole she felt like crawling into and the little girl took full advantage of that fact.

Esther's search continued but she was unable to find the little girl and her worry started to grow when she realized how late the little mistress was going to be for the arranged dinner if she didn't get ready as soon as possible.

"Esther?" At the sound of her name being called Esther turned to the site of Jungkook coming down the stairs. Unlike his little sister Jungkook was already dressed and ready for dinner with his short dark hair combed and styled.

"Ah, young master, do you need something?" Esther asked offering the young boy a smile as she nodded her head in approval of his appearance. Stuffing his hands into the pocket of his jeans Jungkook gave a small shake of his head.

"What's wrong, you look upset?" Jungkook asked instead with a slight tilt of his head. With a heavy sigh, Esther put a hand to her head.

"It's the young mistress, she's gone into hiding again and I can't seem to find her anywhere in the house." Esther complained and Jungkook couldn't help but smile at his little sister's antics.

"It's alright Esther, I'll find her and get her ready for dinner before mother and father even notice." Jungkook offered and another frown graced Esther's lips. "Go on, I'm sure you still have a lot to do." Jungkook insisted before Esther could make any further complaints.

"With your permission." With a sigh, Esther relented and then turned her back to continue her duties.

After watching her go Jungkook turned once again and headed back up the stairs in the direction of their bedrooms. He knew exactly where to find his little sister, it amazed him each time how Esme was able to get away with all of her pranks. No one in the house could find her, no one but him, and Esme was aware of that fact.

Arriving at her room Jungkook turned the knob and walked in before closing the door behind him and then walking towards the closet. When Esme had played her first prank they had found her hours later hiding away in the garden under the shed, now every time that the little girl would go missing Esther and the others would search the entire house looking for her.

But it was only a trick, another game that Esme had played on Esther and their parents. They would never find her, because Esme always hid in the one place that they'd never expect her to be, in her very own closet.

"Kookie!" Esme screamed in delight as Jungkook opened the doors to her closet and found her seated among a pile of clothes.

"There you are." Jungkook said with a smile as he knelt down in front of her. "You made Esther run all over the house looking for you." Jungkook said and Esme giggled.

"I know, I watched her come into my room and then run back out when she realized I wasn't in bed." Esme said mischievously as she grinned wildly. "She'll never be able to find me no matter how hard she looks." Esme stated proudly and Jungkook couldn't help but to silently agree with her.
