Chapter 19

Every human was born with a specific purpose, whether it was good or bad, we were all born to do something. Like the mafia, some were born into the organization, others were forced into it due to unforeseen circumstances and the very rare ones were born to lead the mafia life, it was in their DNA. Unfortunately, Jungkook still hadn't figured out where he stood on the hierarchy.

When the ship landed and the children were being escorted one by one into the warehouse, looking small, dirty, and frail Jungkook felt in that moment that he just happened to be born into the Mafia, this wasn't what he was meant to be doing. This wasn't what he wanted.

"How many?" Jungkook asked after all the children were safely tucked away in the warehouse.

"Twenty-five." Thomas replied stuffing his hands into the pockets of his jacket while Jungkook lit a cigarette. He wasn't the type to smoke but it felt as if the situation called for it.

"This is strange, Nikolai has never had anyone handle the children before, so why now and why you?" Atlas asked. Ever since he had found out that they'd be handling this particular transaction Atlas had been very uncomfortable with the whole deal but then again there was nothing they could do about it.

"Only the devil knows what he's thinking." Jungkook said letting out a cloud of smoke through his nose. "They're here now, the sooner we get them shipped to their new home the better for all of us. Have them cleaned, fed, and dressed in uniform, I'll call Rico and have the transportation ready." Jungkook ordered and the two nodded before leaving to do as they were told.

Inside his office Jungkook put off his cigarette in the ashtray and took off his jacket, just then his phone began ringing and he looked down to see Dario's name flashing across the screen.

"What is it?" Jungkook asked on answering the phone and then he took a seat behind his desk.

"I can't believe I doubted the fact that you could get her on your side." Dario said with a chuckle and Jungkook could just imagine the look on her face. "What the hell did you say to her?" Dario asked.

"Nothing of interest to you, is there a reason as to why you called?" Jungkook asked.

"Well since you're officially part of the trade now, you and the other drug lords need to meet. Yu-Jin wants to start off the first trade and all of us need to be on the same page." Dario informed him and Jungkook leaned back in his seat.

"I'm sure you can speak on my behalf and reach a reasonable agreement Dario." Jungkook said and heard his laughter from the other side.

"Ah, but that's the thing, I'm not your subordinate Jungkook, I'm a drug lord on my own. If you want in on the take then you need to attend the meeting and speak for yourself like everyone else." Dario explained making Jungkook sigh as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "If you want these men to take seriously then you can't act like you're better than them or above them, you need to come."

Dario insisted and silently Jungkook muttered that he was indeed better and above them all but Dario didn't need to hear that. His phone beeped against his ear and Jungkook pulled the device back to glance at the screen, he had never been happier to see Esther's name flash across the screen.

"Send me the details and I'll be there." Jungkook said briskly and then ended his call with Dario and started a new one with Esther instead. "Esther, what is it?" He asked and he could hear the older lady's breath over the phone.

"Master I'm sorry to disturb you but you need to come home immediately." Esther said and Jungkook could easily pick up the nerves in her voice making him sit up in worry.

"Esther, what's wrong, did something happen to Autumn?" Jungkook asked already standing on his feet trying to shrug on his jacket.

"She's fine but Ezekiel is here." Esther said and Jungkook literally froze in his spot as his blood turned to ice in his veins. His uncle was in his house, his uncle was in his house and Autumn was alone with him.
