She frowns.

"Well in eight months your gonna have a family of your own and we're not going anywhere."

I smile and hold her hand lightly.

"Thank you."

She smiles.

"Let's go back to the residence, we'll look for a place tomorrow ok?"

I nod.

"Alright."

The next day Kagome and I make our way to the doctors office for her prenatal appointment.

We wait in the waiting room and look through a pregnancy magazine together until our names are called and we are led into a small blue room.

Kagome lays on the bed and the doctor pulls out this weird smelling gel.

"This is going to be a little cold alright?"

She nods and he squeezes some onto her still flat stomach.

He then places a weird metal thing on her stomach and moves it around until we hear a thumping noise. "This is your baby's heartbeat it sounds very strong."

Kagome beams at me and the doctor continues moving the metal thing around when suddenly he stops.

I sense his hesitation and my anxiety rises.

"Is something wrong?"

He turns to face me.

"Uh no, it's just that there are two heartbeats."

I widen my eyes in confusion.

"Our child has two hearts!?"

He shakes his head slowly.

"No, each of your children have one heart."

I watch Kagome cover her mouth in shock and my brain still won't register what he's said until Kagome blurts it out.

"Twins! We're having twins!"
