Some time had passed since Izuku told his father the truth about Inko and their relationship had remained strained. Hisashi never confronted her about it over the phone as he didn't want her to take her anger out on Izuku but always promised his son he was doing everything in his power to come home soon. Izuku knew that soon meant more than a couple of months but tried to stay positive. He tried to ignore his mothers small comments about him needing more friends and asking if he had forgotten his made up friends but it was hard. He would just shake his head yes or no and his mother seemed to gain more worried every time she received this answer. Today was no different.
Izuku had just finished school when he entered the house to see his mother at the entrance with her usual look of worry whenever it came to him most days. He left his shoes at the entrance and slipped his green slippers that were the same color as his hair on his feet. It was becoming harder and harder to send a seemingly genuine smile at his mother but he persevered and attempted to walk up to his room. "Wait Izuku," his mother called and he froze, slowly turning back around to face her. Inko gave him a pitiful little smile and told him to sit down. "Honey I know you are still struggling to get over your little imaginary friends and world so I want to help. I found a highly recommended physiatrist that specializes in helping children like you..."
Izuku felt the tiny string of threat of hope towards his mother snap. His mother thought he needed mental help. "You... you think I'm crazy..." Izuku managed to get out as his frustration towards the entire situation slowly fueled into hatred and anger. "No! Of course not baby! You just need a little help is all..." Izuku knew his entire life mothers were meant to love and his mother had always told him it was her job to worry but this was different. Mothers are also meant to be encouraging and accepting. A mom is to be there for their child when they trip and fall to help them back up. Not tear them down and ask a seven year to grow up instead of living their life full of innocence and hope that adulthood would eventually crush...
Anger towards the situation built up and Izuku looked to the floor as his knuckles turned white from clutching them so tightly. He saw Inko's shadow moving towards me and he kept away from her and screamed, "Don't touch me!" Tears ran down his face and the sheer fear on his mother's only had them fall harder. She jerked away at his sudden movement and she scolded him. "Izuku! I'm your mother! You should know I only what is best for you! Why can't you just see that!?" "Mom I'm not crazy! I don't need help because I am perfectly fine! Why can't YOU see that!?" Izuku screams in frustration as his tears blur his vision. "Do not yell at me Izuku!" Inko yells right back and Izuku flinches back as she uses her quirk to push him away from her.
Izuku feels the feathers in his wings getting agitated and ruffled as his emotions continue to build and cries out, "Mom just stop! Will you just LISTEN TO ME!?" In his desperation to force his mother to listen to him, Izuku doesn't think and harshly flaps his large wings. The wind was so strong that Inko nearly fell over and several objects around the house slid across the house. Inko scurries backward till she reaches the front door and swings it open as tears fall down her face. "Get out..." "Wha-" "GET OUT!" Inko screams at him and points to the door as she moves farther from him as if concerned her own son would hurt her. Izuku's tears stop falling as he is too shocked to process what just took place, frozen in place. "Just... get out Izuku... and don't come back till you've calmed down. I won't have my child destroying my house..." Inko says in a defeated tone that matched the emotions flooding Izuku's head.
Izuku still couldn't make himself move until his mother screamed on last time, "Now!" His tears began to fall once more and he didn't even stop to grab his shoes. Still clad in his school uniform and slipper with backpack strapped on his back, Izuku ran over to the Bakugo residence. They lived just down the road but it felt like forever as Izuku stumped over with head hung low with tears and snot dripping down his face. He wiped his face with his black sleeve as he reached the house he considered his second home and gently knocked on the door. He hears Aunt Mitsuki yell at Kacchan to get the door and a small smile builds at the sound of his best friend grumpily stomping down the stairs.
The door flies open and only then does Izuku realize the messy state he is in. He stares down at his shoe covered feet and only looks up through his curly bangs when Kacchan says, "Zu? Nerd? What's wrong?" Izuku stays silent as his best friend tugs his arm and pulls him into the house. He quietly stands at the door way and fiddles with his shirt sleeves as Kacchan gets his mother. He blinks in surprise when his aunt suddenly appears in front of him and it takes him a second to realize she is talking to him. "-wrong kid? Talk to me squirt..." "Momma and I got in a fight... can I stay here for a bit please?" "Sure bud, just let me know if you need anything 'kay?" Izuku barely processed what his aunt asked and just numbly nods his head yes. He follows Kacchan to his room and doesn't even argue when Kacchan helps him to change when he didn't want to. Izuku barely said anything throughout the entire night but Kacchan held him all night long and comforted him as he sobbed into his shoulder at the sound of Mitsuki yelling at his mother over the phone.
