Izuku and Inko stared each other down for a solid minute before either seemed to blink. "We are going somewhere so I need you to get in the car." Inko ordered mysteriously and refused to answer any of Izuku's burning questions. Still slightly scared of his mother after their incident two nights before, Izuku made his way to the car but walked away purposely slow to annoy her and show all his wounds she had caused. As he sat down in the passenger's seat, Inko impatiently slammed the door shut and Izuku winced as the seatbelt rubbed against some of his cuts.
Inko slipped into the driver's seat and began driving. The entire drive was silent as Izuku watched the world blur by and tried to determine where they were headed. He barely recognized anything after a few minutes and felt his worry grew as time went on. Inko refused to tell him where they were going and eventually parked in a dark parking garage that was strangely mainly empty. Suspicious grew as his door remained locked and it only opened when his mother let him out and immediately grabbed onto his arm. They walked through the dimly lit parking garage and Izuku's worry grew.
Finally they reached a building at the bottom floor but there was no sign on the building to indicate what it was. Izuku firmly planted his feet down and refused to go any further. "Mom why are we here and what is this place!?" Inko's eyes flashed with worry and fear and Izuku had a strong suspicion he was going to hate her answer. "Someplace that will help you..." Her vague answer added to the dread Izuku already felt and he began to try and rip his arm out of her grip. "Mom where are we!?" He demanded as her nails dug into his skin and his body stung as she used her quirk to tug on his skin cells to weakly hold him in place. "Izuku this is for your own good now stop fighting me!" Inko yelled and a few individuals dressed in white scrubs walked out.
"Mom let go!," Izuku turned to the individuals and begged, "please help me!" At first, they walked towards him and Izuku was ready to cry out of gratitude but they grabbed him instead of his mother. "Wait!... Stop!..." Two of the scrubbed strangers picked him up and held on tightly to his arms and legs and ignored his pleas to be put down. The other went to his mother and asked which room he was to be put in! Izuku was absolutely terrified and was afraid to try and use his quirk to escape as he had no idea where he was or what the others quirks were.
The building he is taken into is all white and Izuku squeezes his eyes shut praying it is a nightmare. He knows it can't be as he hasn't had one since he got his quirk but he could barely believe it. His mother had tricked him and was now forcefully taking him to a psychiatrist at a mental hospital. The two men gently placed him down on a white couch in an all white room. They began to walk out and Izuku shot up to ask where they were going. They ignored him and walked to the door. He ran after them and as he reached the exit the door was slammed shut and locked. "Wait please! Let me out! I'm not crazy please!" Izuku banged on the door begging until a voice sounded from across the room. "That is for me to decide young man."
In an all glass room, in the far corner sat a man, again dressed in all white, in a chair with a notepad in his hand. His body was the only thing not white and almost made his seem unreal within a room of one color. He was in the room but separated as if for his own protection and Izuku's fear continued to grow to the point he wanted to be sick. As if sensing his fear, Alice and Mad Hatter appeared beside him in silent support but remained only visible to him as he didn't trust this man in front of him. "Do you know why you are here Izuku?" The man asked. "How do you know my name?" Izuku responded wearily. "Your mother had some concerns about you and you need help child. My job is to help people and now I will help you." Now Izuku really wanted to cry. His mother was the one to really have gone crazy. He never understood why she couldn't accept the truth but he knew this man wouldn't accept it either even if he revealed his two friends standing beside him.
"Why won't you admit Wonderland isn't real Izuku?" Izuku felt bile raise in his throat at the sound of this person casually using his name. He hated this man despite not knowing him as he was one of the reasons he was locked up like an animal. "A friend once told me that just because something happens in your heads doesn't mean it's not real. What's real to me may not be real to you but Wonderland is real..." Izuku said and smiled as he say Alice and the Hatter smiling back at him and squeezed his hands in support. "So you are saying you refuse to admit your delusions aren't real?" "What! No! They aren't delusions! I can prove it too! I can show you them, you have to believe me!" Izuku exclaimed but the man just turned away before he could show him the truth. "I've heard enough Izuku, until you admit they aren't real, you will not be leaving this room." Izuku watched in shock at the man left him all alone and he curled in a ball and began to sob.
"You're real, you're real, you're real" He sobbed on repeat as many of his friends appeared in front of him, taking turns trying to calm him down. He watched them appear and disappear and had grown used to the sight of it over the years but suddenly he wasn't so sure if he was crazy or not. He blocked them out and looked around at the now empty room. He just wanted out and for the first time he felt scared of the room closing in on him. He wanted out but he didn't want to say he was crazy. His breath sped up and his lips could taste the salt from all his tears. His chest squeezed with the need for more air but he couldn't get enough. He suddenly felt every nerve in his body full with the need to get out and he was at the door pounding, begging to he let out. The cuts on his hands from previously reopened and new bruises and cuts formed until the white door was white no more. He collapsed at the door with no energy left to cry or beg and it was only then that the mysterious man walked back in.
"Are you ready to admit Wonderland isn't real?" The man said in a smug tone but Izuku was too tired to be mad. He knew they were real but weakly nodded his head in defeat. He just wanted out and to go to bed and never look at the real world again. "Good boy!" The man said excitedly as if he was a dog that had finally learned a new trick. The man walked out again and Izuku felt his body fall over as the blood covered door was finally opened. He didn't fight as a scrub covered individual picked him up and bandaged his many wounds. He barely acknowledged the sting of the antibiotics and sat silently in the car drive back home. His mother said something to him about eating and him having Schizophrenia but he was too tired to care. He just walked past her and ignored her as she had done to him and goes to bed wanting to never wake up again and escape the world that unfortunately was his reality.
AN : I do not have Schizophrenia nor does anyone in my family so the mention of it in this chapter and a few future chapters could be completely inaccurate. If you do have Schizophrenia and I insulted you with this I am so sorry. I am aware that most don't develop this until early 20's and is extremely rare for a child under the age of 13 and Izuku is still only nearly nine. It is just for the story and Izuku does not actually have it as his quirk is real! Also this is the future so things can change. Have a lovely day my readers!
