Izuku woke up with a pounding in his head and memories of the night before flooded in. He wanted to cry but he was so tired of crying. Izuku lifted his hand up to where he hit his head and hissed at the tenderness of it as his finger barely touching it stung. He forced himself out of bed and slowly snuck into the kitchen. Just like many mornings the past few months, a note was set out on the counter saying Inko would be working late and she had made some breakfast in the fridge. He opened the fridge door and inside sat a large bowl of Katsudon his mother had most definitely made as an apology.
Too tired to cry any more but filled with anger at his mother's pitiful attempt to apologize, he grabbed the bowl and dumps the food in the garbage can. Hands still shakes from anger, Izuku screams and throws the bowl on the floor and trembles as small bits bounce across the floor and cut his feet and lower legs. Anger gone and now just mentally exhausted, he crouches down onto his hands and knees and ignores as more pieces cut into his skin. He cries but no tears fall as he picks up the many broken bits of the bowl and cleans up his mess. Tantrum over and too sick to his stomach to hold anything down, Izuku just leans against the counter as he stays kneeled on the floor.
Time passed and the sound of someone walking in the house barely registered with Izuku. He tiredly lifted his head to see a worried expression on his best friend's face. Izuku watches as Katsuki grabbed a towel and got it wet and began cleaning off the blood. No words were said but they didn't need to be said. Izuku already knew Kacchan go in with the spare key he had been given earlier that year and Katsuki already knew all about Inko past actions that could have caused Izuku's breakdown. The two boys barely kept any secrets from the other and this wasn't one of them.
The pairs plan to go to the arcade for the afternoon was pushed to a later date and Izuku was very grateful to Katsuki for refusing to leave his side for the rest of the day. He cooked Izuku breakfast, lunch, and dinner and made sure he ate every bite. The aggressive blond also patched up all his wounds and ran his fingers through Izuku's hair until he fell asleep. Izuku smiled at the familiar dream world and used his wings to quickly fly down the tunnel and into Wonderland. He was immediately greeted with the sight of the Mad Hatter creating several new hats for Alice. Alice smiled happily at him and Mad Hatter waved as he was holding several pins in his mouth and didn't want to drop them.
"Hello Izuku!" Alice said in her usual soft voice. "Hello Alice, what hats is Hatter making for you now?" Izuku asked wanting to distract himself from his day and Alice was happy to help. "I'm not quite sure, he claims he has to wait for inspiration to hit so he is just taking measurements at the moment." Izuku looked over at Hatter sketching madly in his book and just smiled knowing inspiration had hit just as he claimed it would. "We tried to visit today but you didn't let us..." Alice said sadly and Izuku's head shot back towards her. He had been so upset that he had blocked them out for the day and he felt guilty for cutting them out. "Do you want to talk about it?" Alice asked but Izuku knew if he said no she would move the topic into something different for his sake.
"Mom still refuses to believe me and has been using every chance she gets to work over time to avoid me... We haven't talked about her wanting to send me to a physiatrists since that one day but the looks she gives me scare me... am I really crazy Alice? Are you really just in my head?" Izuku askes in a scared tone. Suddenly Hatter appears in front of him and plops a new black bowler hat on his head. In his airy tone he spoke, "Alice once told me that all the best people are crazy! Being normal is no fun! Plus! Dumbledore said just because something happens in your head doesn't mean it isn't real!" "Thanks..." Izuku despite not having any idea who this Dumbledore person was. "Hatter is right Zu, I think your mother is the crazy one for not believing you! After all, your father, other mother and second father believe you as does your Pomeranian of a brother!"
Izuku laughed at Alice's references of Hisashi, Mitsuki, Masuru, and Katsuki and let them distract him from the thought of other world for the rest of his dream. He woke up once more and wished as he had many mornings before for this world to be the made up one. It was Sunday and regretted his actions from the day before as his body currently hated him. He was a mess with eyes still red and slightly puffy. All over his hands, knees, shins, and feet are various bandages and his bruise from Friday night had darkened to a deep purple. Izuku changed into a fresh pair of clean clothes and made his way to the kitchen. Used to the routine, he didn't even glance at the counter for the usual note and went straight to the fridge. Looking around in confusion, the fridge was nearly bare and a throat was cleared behind him. Izuku spun around in fear and behind him stood his mother and he immediately knew this wasn't going to be the usual Sunday he had been forced to grow used to.
