Seventeen

Emily wasn't expecting a call till a few months later. She was close to her due date and there was still no sign of Ashton. That was till she heard the phone ringing. "Hello?"

"Emily, I'm heading to Forks and so shall you guys. It's our home."

"I like that sound, but why are you heading there in the first place. Did something happen?"

Emily heard a sigh. "Bella's dead."

The blonde didn't say anything as the phone dropped from her hand. Edward ran in and grabbed her as she stared in shock. "Baby?" He said as she looked at him with tears in her eyes. "What?"

"Bella's dead."

By the time they got back to Forks, besides Kevin, the news that Bella was alive got to them and that Ashton was turning himself over to the Volturi because of Bella's 'death'. Edward looked at the sleeping form of Emily and smiled as she wasn't stressing or hurting. He walked downstairs as Rosalie looked up. "How is she?"

"She's relaxed." He tells her. "We've been talking and we want you to sign the papers once the baby is born to be the godmother."

Rosalie nodded. "Thank you so much." She said. "I'm still not hugging you."

"That would be awkward." Edward said as he walked over to Emmett. "Hug Emily. She wanted to ask you in the first place."

"Really?" Rosalie asked. "We don't get along and you agreed to that."

Edward sat down to watch Emmett and Jasper. Rosalie walked out of the room as Carlisle answered the phone. "Hello?" He said. "Alice, are you on your way with them?" He listened as he looked at the others. Rosalie and Emily stopped at the top of the stairs as they heard. "We need to vote."

Three days later, Emily sat on a rock thinking about the voting that is going to happen tonight. Something she really didn't want a part of. She's pregnant and she was not going to deal with stress. Edward found her and sighed in relief. "Don't ever scare me like that."

"Sorry."

"What's wrong?"

"I don't see why they want to vote. If Bella is so desperate to be like us then give her what she wants." She said. "I just want my pregnancy to be stress free, but it's like that won't happen I'm getting closer and closer to the due date. With all this happening, I'm afraid I won't make it to the due date."

Edward sat down beside her and held her close. "Baby, I know what you mean. I've tried to tell them, but none of them aren't listening." He sighed. "Maybe till the baby is born, we should stay at your dad's house. Away from all the drama." The blonde looked at him as she thought that was a good idea. Edward stood up with her and grabbed her hand. "I promise you now, that you and this baby will come first. Not Ashton and Bella. You will always be my number one."

Emily smiled as she kissed him. "I don't care where we are as long as I have you and this baby there, then I'm safe." She tells him. "I love you, Edward and I can't wait to say I do."

"I love you, Emily."

"Where's Edward and Emily?" Ashton asked.

"They are packing to stay at Emily's." Rosalie says. "Edward doesn't want to be apart of this voting and neither does Emily. Their first priority is that baby. My godchild and I'll be damned if I let you stress her out."

Ashton nodded as he knew that sooner or later, Emily and Edward would move out. "Let's start this voting before dad finds out I'm gone."

Ashton nodded as one by one started voting.
