“Could you give us a moment,” Bilbo said looking up at Oakintree. “I just need a few moments in private with him is all.”

“Hmm, I suppose that will not be too much of a problem, though be careful of his tricky sneaky ways as he is certainly part evil,” warned Oakintree as he turned to leave.

“Don’t you worry I know this all too well,” replied Bilbo as he turned his attention back to that of Gollum. Bilbo looked Gollum up and down and discovered that Gollum had not changed at all since there last encounter. Gollum had always looked feeble and on the brink of life and death. Yet he was rather quick and nimble as his extended period of time with the ring has extend his life much past the normal span.

“Well what is it, get on with it stupid Hobbit we’s wants to hear its,” scowled Gollum.

“What if I told you the ring is going to be coming south again, possibly straight through this area in the coming year.”

“This is trickery, yelled Gollum suddenly. “The ring as already came south as you were the one whop tooks it from us. Sneaky hobbit try to trick us again, but we will not be so easy to fool us this time.”

“Me no I do not have the right of power any more Gollum. I wish I did with all my might but it needs to be destroyed and you know it too.”

“Lair you stole it! The precious will never be destroyed.”

“Gollum you must get a hold of yourself,” screamed Bilbo at the top of his lungs as he could feel his face growing hot and the frustration building inside of him. “You must listen, the ring corrupts. You know it I know it and that is why it must be destroyed.”

“You cannot destroy the precious though, we needs it. We might even be destroyed with it.”

“Gollum for most of your life you have been nothing but an evil little creature. Hell that is even why you are in this person now captured by the ents. But this is the chance for you to right all of those wrongs and finally do some good for once in your life. I know there is still a piece of you that means well.”

“Alright, alright we wills help. But only as to escape from this prison and old so we may see the ring on last time.”

That a boy,” replied Bilbo rather excitedly that he had succeeded in convincing Gollum. “Now let me go and try to convince Oakintree to free you.”

Oakintree did not take much convincing as he and the other ents wanted that evil little creature out of Fangorn. The only stipulation being the Bilbo must accompany Gollum out of the forest and lead him far away as to ensure he wouldn’t return. Gollum was freed emediatly by Oakintree who lifted the heavy wooden barred door with ease. Gollum came scampering up and glared at Bilbo with an eveil mencing stair.

“Well we must not wait any longer Gollum, lets lead you pout of here, replied Bilbo trying to ignore the glare of Gollum. “Goodbye Oakintree and thank you for all that you have done for me.”

“Anytime Bilbo you will always be welcome to the forest of Fangornand to enjoy the company of the ents, boomed Oakintree as Bilbo and Gollum began to head to the edge of the forest.

Within a few hours of waling Gollum and Bilbo had reached the end of the Forest. The two were silent for much of the walk. Gollum still seemed to be seething over Bilbo though he had to respect the hobbit for freeing him. Bilbo on the other hand did not know that to say to Gollum and decided that it was best just to keep quiet.

“Well here we are,” said Bilbo breaking the silence as the two looked out other the large plain that lay before them.

“Well where’s it we go next,” scowled Gollum at Bilbo.

“Well Gollum you see I am rather old and have been on this adventure for a good amount of time and I wish to turn back for Rivendell soon. Though what I want you todo is head south to Mordor and possibly scout ways in”

“Psst, whys would I do that? That would puts us in serious danger. Why should I even listen to you anymore, we are freed and don’t have to listen to you at all.”

“Listen Gollum I understand this but I can promise you food and money and maybe even a life in Rivendell with me. Also you made a promise and I know even you are not above your own word. And if you betray your word Gollum it will be almost certainly a death sentence I can promise you that also.”

“Elves!? Why would we wants to live with them?, we hates the elves.”

“Gollum you may live where you please after this just know that you will be paid handsomely.’

“Fine fine,” mumbled Gollum almost reluctantly.

“Good, after you do a little scouting down towards Mordor, I want you to head north towards Rivendell. That is where the party of the ring bearer will leave the ring bearer is likely going to be my nephew Frodo even though he does not know it yet.”

“And just how are we supposed to find these people wants they leave,” questioned Gollum in a condescending tone.

“Don’t be daft Gollum. You are and excellent tracker and you know it. Just find them and ensure there safe passage through these lands.”

“Very well, Gollum hopes to indeed be paid greatly for this,” replied Gollum menacingly before immediately switching his tone and removing the evil glare from his eyes. “Sméagol can see the reasoning behind destroying the ring. This is a good time for Sméagol to change his evil ways. Wes just want to be normal again.”

The two then said their goodbyes and Sméagol heading off into the south and too Mordor. Bilbo turned north and headed back to Rivendell.

“I suppose the dwarves will just have to come visit me in Rivendell, said Bilbo aloud as walked. “This was not the last adventure that I had envisioned, but I guess a true adventure cannot be planned.”

With that Bilbo made his way back to Rivendell and where he would wait for Frodo and the ring. Frodo might not have known it at the time but it was going to be his fate to carry the ring to Mordor and Bilbo knew it. Bilbo just hoped that Sméagol would keep his word and safely lead Frodo there. As Bilbo knew probably better than anyone else the darkne3ss that the ring possess and the evil that now lies waiting to reclaim it. Bilbo could not only hope that he did enough to ensure in its destruction. As Bilbo walked he began to gaze up at the Misty Mountains one last time, as for Bilbo’s last adventure was coming to a close he knew that no words from a book could describe the beauty and excitement that he felt in the wild lands of Middle Earth.
