17. 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞

Time: 2:30 a.m.

What Juyeon said just kept lingering in my mind. It's almost 3am and I couldn't sleep because I was thinking too much.

Should I just give up? Should I confess and then move on? What if I ruin our friendship? What if the same thing happens again? What if I lose his trust?

There were so many what if's in my mind at such a late hour. Too many questions that I just couldn't handle anymore. So I decided to sneak out, walk outside and might as well chill by the convenience store since it was open 24/7. I just needed to do something so I could clear my thoughts. Sleep? I could do that in class and leave my future self to study #ProcrastinationIsLife LOL.

I stopped by the convenience store and bought myself a bar of chocolate 'cause I had nothing else to buy at the hour. I sat down by a bench outside and started eating the bar of chocolate while trying not to space out in my thoughts but of course, I ended up spacing out in my thoughts just until I heard a familiar voice.

"What are you doing here at this hour?", I looked up and it was Hyunjae wearing a hoodie with his hands in his pockets. I remained silent and just looked at him and he sat beside me.

"Wahh~ How is it even possible that I run into you here once again, AT THIS HOUR?", He expressed.

"What are YOU doing here at this hour?", I asked.

"Ahh~ That....", He scratched the back of his head and he brought out something from his pocket that looked like a car key.

"What is that?", I asked while looking at the item in his hand.

"Car key", He said.

"YOU DRIVE?!?!"

"Yeah... kinda."

"Since when?", I asked.

"Since high school...", he said slowly.

"Mwoya? It's not like you to be hiding something like that. How did you even learn how to drive?"

"When my parents come to visit here, my dad teaches me. I sometimes wake up early to practice and it happened to be today that I wanted to practice.", he said.

"But why are hiding the fact that you drive?", I asked.

"Just because...", he said with a somehow shy and sad tone.

"So...where are you going at this hour?", I asked. He stood up and said,

"Wanna come with me?"

"Where?"

"Follow me if you wanna come"

And so with much excitement, I followed him to his car and sat on the passenger seat beside him.

"So where are we going?", I asked.

"You'll see", He smiled.

"Are you kidnapping me?", I asked.

"You're the one who sat on my car!", Hyunjae argued. I put my seat belt on and said,

"Let's go!", he then started driving.

We got to our destination and it was still dark but the sound of the waves was very loud and somehow comforting. I was going to sit on thw sand but he suddenly removed his jacket and dropped on the floor.

"Sit here!", he said.

"Ohh~~ Hyunjae gentleman! Thank you~ But aren't you cold?", I said.

"It's summer dummy!", he flicked my head and sat down. I rolled my eyes and sat down on his jacket.

"It's nice here right?", he asked.

"It's dark...How would I know? but the sound of the waves are nice", I answered.

"You'll see...You'll be thankful I brought you here.", he answered.

"Do you always go here?", I asked.

"Yeah...It's my secret place.", he answered.

"Then it's not a secret anymore.", I said.

"You're the first ever person I brought here. Be thankful."

Hyunjae's POV

"Why are you first??", I expressed.

"What do you mean?", she tilted her head while looking at me.

"You're the first ever friend who sat on my car, the first person I brought here, my first ever friend that's a girl, and on top of that you're...."

My first love. I said in my mind.

"I'm what??", she asked.

"The first ever ugly person i've seen in my life!!", my cheeks were heating up and so that was all I could say she hit me multiple times in my shoulder.

"MEANIE!!!", she said and rolled her eyes.

"Yah! The sun's rising!"
