Time: 5:00 a.m.
Hyunjae's POV
"Yah! The sun is rising!", Yeonwoo said as she looked up the sky. I looked at her and she was smiling, brighter than the sun that for me, was a better view.
"What were you doing in the convenience store at such a late hour?", I asked.
"Ah....I just couldn't sleep.", she said slowly while looking down.
"You should've called me. It would've been dangerous at such an hour.", I said.
"I didn't need to though.", she said with a smile.
"But why couldn't you sleep? It's either you have too many thoughts or maybe caffeine intake. Which one of the two?", I asked.
"Wah~ You're smart...", she said.
"So what is it?", I asked.
"The first one... I had too many going on my mind.", she said with a hint of sadness in her voice.
"Are you okay?? If you wanna talk about it, i'm all ears. Maybe that's what you needed.", I said.
"There's someone I like....", she said and I choked my saliva. She started slapping my back.
"Are you okay??", she asked.
"Y-yes~ Continue what you were saying"
"So... There's someone I like but I wanna stop.", she said.
"Why"
"I'm scared...I might ruin my relationship with him right now and I want the best for him.", she said while looking down.
"Is it someone I know?", I asked slowly with a soft smile.
"Can I trust you?", she looked up to me with watery eyes and I nodded multiple time reassuring her with a soft smile.
"Lee Juyeon.", she said and looked away.
"I liked Juyeon since last year.", and the moment she said that, my mind froze and my heart broke but I still tried to stay calm in front of Yeonwoo.
"S-so does Juyeon know??", I asked.
"I don't know but he likes someone else and he looks sincere but he's just scared of trying.", she said, put on a sad smile and looked up to the sky again
They like each other. I'm ruined... I thought. It was silent as we were both watching the sun rise while hearing the loud waves of the sea.
"Isn't it so pretty?", as soon as I said that, I felt a head on my shoulder. Kim Yeonwoo was fast asleep. I looked at her and fixed her hair as it was covering her face.
"Beautiful", I said while looking at her.
"Get some sleep, princess", I said and patted her head.
I switched Yeonwoo's position from my shoulder to my lap since I felt like it was uncomfortable sleeping on my shoulder. She woke up and immediately stood up. She checked her phone for the time and said,
"Yah! You should've woke me up!", she said with her eyes widened.
"You didn't get any sleep so I didn't.", I said.
"What if Younghoon looks for me???", she said in a panicked manner.
"You didn't tell him that you were out?"
"Are you stupid? It was 3am and he was asleep.", Yeonwoo said.
"Okay~ Let's go home.", I said and we started walking to my car. But Yeonwoo was looking at the cafe near the beach.
"Yah~ Oppa! The cafe's open...I brought my wallet. Want coffee?", she said while pointing at the shop.
"Sure! If you're buying."
"Of course, you brought me here~", she said with a smile.
"Y-yeah...then..I'll wait at the car!", I was embarassed for stuttering so much that I immediately ran to my car. She came back with two cups of coffee and said,
"Oppa! Let's go here again next time~ They gave me a coupon and it they're food looks delicious.", she said with a big smile.
"Mm~", I said as a response with a smile on my face.
"Call me when you're going to drive again!! Don't you dare betray me", she said while squinting her eyes.
As soon as I got home, I wanted to slowly and as quiet as possible get inside my room and prepare for school. However, as soon as I entered Kim Younghoon, who was apparently eating at the dining table, eyed me.
"Where have you been?", he asked with his arms crossed and one of his eyebrows raised.
"Oh?? I...ummm..
I went jogging!", I said abruptly.
"Jogging? Suddenly?", he answered.
"Yeah~ The weather was nice.", I answered.
"Then you should've called me!!! I want to go jogging with my sister too", he said and I just cringed at his words. He frowned and just said,
"I made pancakes, eat up~"
