My Light In The Dark

Part 19

                        Thomas's (POV)

After hearing that I have a twin brother I got up and left the medjack hut. I ran into Clint and Jeff and told them if (Y/N) gets any worse or wakes up one of them needs to find either myself or Newt..

They both nodded in response they went back to medjack hut while I headed into the glade to find Mitch I needed to know if he knew he was my twin brother..

I finally found him at the treehouse of all places. I walked up to him and pointed to the ladder signaling we need to go up there and talk in private.

He just nodded and started climbing up the ladder. As soon as I knew we were alone I tried to figure out how to start the conversation.. how to tell Mitch hey you're my twin brother. But I couldn't find the words.

So I decided to go a different route I looked at Mitch and said to him "Be honest with me." He nodded his head as if saying ok. I then continued "Why do you call (Y/N) Snowflake? How did you come up with the nickname?"

Mitch looked at me and laughed "Haha."

I looked at him and asked "What's so funny Shank?" The glade's word rolling off my tongue like I've said it all my life.

Mitch looked at me and responded "You are you Shuckface." Guess I'm not the only one whose gotten used to using glader words.

I'm a little confused as to why you laughed when I asked those questions about(Y/N).

I told Mitch.. He looked at me his expression cool but calm " You mean the question of How did I come up with the nickname of Snowflake for (Y/N)?

I looked at him and said "Yes."

His response shocked me "Thomas I didn't come up with that nickname you did." You called her that when she was little."

                         FLASHBACK:

Thomas and Mitch were 10 years old.. (Y/N) was 4 years old.

It had snowed the night before and (Y/N) really wanted to go out and play.

Thomas and Mitch got ready in their winter gear and even got (Y/N) ready as well..

They all went outside and we're having fun in the snow when Thomas saw that the lake near the place they were staying was frozen. They all decided to grab hands and go out on the ice.

They spun around but when their hands released Mitch was on the snow while Thomas and (Y/N) were still out on the ice.

Thomas was scared for the little girl he got down on his stomach and crawled to her. Grabbed her by the hood of her coat. He told her "Hey Snowflake I need you to be brave ok. I'm gonna get you on my back and we're gonna get out here."

(Y/N) smiled at the nickname he gave her then nodded understanding she needed to be brave..

In one feel swoop Thomas had (Y/N) on his back and was doing a slow fast army crawl toward the shore.

When suddenly he heard a yell "TOMMY THE ICE IT'S BREAKING!" It was (Y/N) yelling.

Before he knew what was happening it was too late. The ice cracked under him as panic filled Thomas.

Thomas then grabbed (Y/N) as he turned his body in one swift movement so she was still on top of the ice.

(Y/N) saw as Thomas went under the water yelling his name "TOMMY!!" at the top of her lungs panic filling her tiny chest. Mitch was by her side and dragged her to shore and away from danger.

(Y/N) was kicking and yelling in his grip "We have get Tommy out of there! He's hurt! I can feel it!"

Then before (Y/N) or Mitch knew what was happening Thomas broke to the surface Mitch was back on the ice in seconds and rescued Thomas.

He was wet, cold, and shivering..

They knew they had to get warm.
The three of them went back up the hill and into the house.

Mitch yelling at the top of his lungs"We need help!"

A man and a lady who have been watching the boys and little girl for a few years came rushing into the room..

The lady looked nice she understood that (Y/N) cared for Tommy..

The man looked scary as (Y/N) told the boys he looked like he had a rat face..

They pair took one look and started working on getting the three little kids  out of their wet and cold clothes.

Mitch told the pair he was fine. He at least got in some warm clothes and got some hot cocoa..

The pair then turned their attention to Thomas and the little girl that was still laying on him as if she was trying to warm him up with her own body heat.

The lady walked over to (Y/N) and tried to get her off Thomas telling her "(Y/N) you need to come and get in some warm clothes."

(Y/N) shock her head saying "NO I'm not leaving Tommy."

The lady looked at the man with the rat face and said "what should we do?" "We need to get them both warm."

The rat faced man left the room and returned with clothes for (Y/N) "have her put these on the bathroom is right around the corner that way she won't be far from Thomas."

(Y/N) looked at the clothes and held tighter to Tommy. Mitch walked over and told her "How about I help get you in the warm clothes and they can check Tommy out and make sure he's ok. Deal?"

(Y/N) shook her head "Deal." Then responded to the lady and the rat "Don't hurt him."

"We won't." This came from the lady.

After getting into her warm clothes (Y/N) returned to a surprise Tommy was awake.

She rushed over "Tommy you're ok." She threw her arms around his neck putting her face in his shoulder.

He looked her and responded "I'm alright Snowflake don't cry."

By early nighttime (Y/N) was fast asleep.

Thomas laid awake not knowing what the future holds for the three of them.

End of Flashback..

Thomas sat in the treehouse Mitch still with him shock on his face from the flashback that just went through his memory..
