My Light In The Dark

Part 15

                                Y/N'S (POV)

I was Newt helping getting everything ready for the bonfire..

It was just like the one they had when I arrived everyone was running around the glade getting their jobs done before the BIG event..

A few hours later after dinner it was time to welcome the new glader..

I looked around the bonfire and found Minho with his group of runners since he's the Keeper of the Runners I wasn't surprised.. he waved Hi. I sent him a smile..

I then saw Newt at his usual spot at the log and saw Tommy and the new Glader with them..

I started walking over to them when all of a sudden the one shank I was scared of stopped me..   Gally...

"Hey Greenie. You haven't had your chance in the fighting circle?"

I starting trembling.. I looked at Gally and said in small voice "I'm not the Greenie anymore."

                       Thomas's (POV)

I could feel she was scared. I could feel she was trembling.. that strange connection was back..

I started looking around the bonfire for any sign of (y/n).. Mitch saw the worry look on my face first before Newt did.

He over to me and asked me " Thomas what's wrong?"

I looked at him and said"(y/n) she's scared and I can't find her in this crowd."

Mitch immediately scanned the crowd and in a second tapped my shoulder and pointing toward the fighting circle..

That's when I saw Gally trying to get
(y/n) into the circle to fight..

I told Mitch what the circle was for when we had the bonfire.. and (y/n) was never to go in the circle because she's too young..

Before I could storm over to get (y/n) I glance to see Mitch is already.

He's in the circle and I look to see (y/n) is hiding behind him..

Gally is yelling at him "DON'T PROTECT HER!"
                             Y/N'S (POV)

I'm next to Newt after the new glader rescued me from Gally..

I look back at the fighting circle and that's when it all goes crazy..

Thomas is in the circle fighting Gally..

I cheer him on "Go Tommy."

Gally knocks Tommy off his feet.

But Thomas gets right up and counters with sweeping Gally's feet out from under him..

Just when I think Tommy has the upper hand Gally surprises everyone in the Glade..

Two of his builder buddies come into the circle and pick up where Gally started I watch as one of them punches Tommy in gut, the other kicks him when he's down on the ground..

I look around the bonfire and none of the gladers are going to help him..

Suddenly the new glader appears in the circle incredible he doesn't even hurt Gally's builder buddies but they go down like they passed out..

I rush over to Tommy he's bruised but he seems to be good.

I look at the new glader and say
"Thank you."

I send a glare to Gally and tell the new glader "that's Gally he's a shuckface."

He looks at me and says"I'm sorry (y/n).
Thomas has told me a little bit about the glade.. and seems very protective of you."

I look at him and say "Thank you. Mitch. Oh and welcome to the glade."
