My Light In The Dark

Welcome to the glade.. I had lots of questions spinning in my little head..

What was the glade? Who was I?
How did I remember Tommy?

Panic swirled inside.. but I tried not to show it..

Newt took me on the tour of the Glade.

Showed me the medjack hut, the garden were he works, the guys where the gladers that's what the boys call themselves sleep, and the treehouse..

Where I already climbed it the first day..

I stopped when I saw boys carrying wood.. I tugged on Newt's shirt pointed toward the boys and asked "what are they doing?"

He answered "It's for the welcome bonfire."

I was excited..

I heard my stomach growl Newt looked at me and laughed.. "Come on it's time for lunch."

I followed Newt to the kitchen.. where I met Frypan the cook. He was nice he gave me a cookie.

I then looked around at all the boys and found Minho and saw Tommy was next him..

I pulled Newt's shirt and pointed to Minho and Tommy were sitting at a table talking.. Newt nodded and we walked over to their table..

Thomas "What do you think if we find a new section of the maze tomorrow?"

Minho "That would be interesting but we have to be careful exploring a new section. Just remember we have to be back before sundown."

Thomas nodded tomorrow him and Minho would explore a new section of the maze..

Y/n appeared at their table.

"Hi Tommy." "Hi Minho"

Thomas and Minho said "Hi" to the little curious girl..

Y/n.. that's my name..

How she remembered it she didn't know..

Thomas felt like her recognized her name but he couldn't remember..

Newt showed up as Thomas and y/n were having some sort of conversation like they knew each other all their lives..

The bonfire started y/n sat with Newt who was drinking a strange drink..

Thomas only took a sips of the strange liquid..

Minho was with a group of guys..

Newt explained there were different jobs in the glade.. you had track hoe, gardener, builder, slicer, kitchen, and runner..

Gally apparently the scary guy with big eyebrows when y/n first appeared was the person in charge of the builders..

Tommy was already a runner.. Y/n didn't know what a runner was but as long as he was safe that's all she cared about.

Y/n wasn't sure what job she would do she was to young to be a Runner and to young to be a builder plus she doesn't want to work with Gally he scared her..

Slicer was out of the question y/n guessed it had to do something with animals..

And no working in kitchen with Frypan even if he gave her extra cookies..

Y/n knew what she was going to do for her job help Newt in Garden..

Y/n turned to see boys fighting in a circle.

Gally was there pushing boys out and slamming them down on the ground.

Thomas was up next to fight Gally. Y/n felt instant fear she stood close by watching.

Tommy was holding his own.. staying on feet.. he shoved Gally then he got knocked off his feet Thomas kicked out his foot and knocked Gally off his feet. Unexpectedly Gally somehow got to his feet pinned Thomas to ground where he hit his head..

With Thomas still pinned Y/n rushed over her small fist balled she pulled back and with all the strength she could put into it she aimed right for Gally's nose...
