Chapter 7

~Kaine~

Smiling to myself, I left Ari's room while she is in the shower. I'm sorely tempted to join her but I had to get back to work. Being the boss of the world's top security business isn't easy, there's just so much stuff to do. It's all my dad's fault. He started this company then when I'm of age, Bam! He threw the company to Mr and want on vacation with mum.  

Anyway, in order to make time for Ari, I temporarily put my best friend, Callen, in charge for the past few days. Now, I had to get back work.

"Good evening, Kaine."

I smiled at Aunt Elsa, Callen mum, when I stepped into my office.Werewolves are immortals, and Aunt Elsa is already almost 2000 years old. We stop ageing when we mature but we can alter our appearances to suit our purpose, and since Aunt Elsa has a son, which is the same age as me, she change her appearance to look 30. I'm turning 1000.

"Hey, Aunt Elsa. I missed you." I leaned in to hug her.

"Kaine. How's wooing your lady mate going?" Elsa winked at me. I smirked, thinking back about our kisses.

"Going well. "

"Well, your're in for a long day because there are piles of documents you need to sign, rounds to make and meetings, so be prepared. "

I groaned. Shit. I totally forgot about how busy I was. Then, an idea hit me. Insert light bulb above my head here. I put on my sad puppy dog face and turned to Aunt Elsa.

"Oh no you don't." Aunt Elsa tried to walk away but I moved to block her.

"Please, Aunt Elsa ?" I poured charm into my eyes and quivered my lips. Aunt Elsa rolled her eyes but I could see her softening.

"Fine." Aunt Elsa huffed. YES! I pumped my fist up and kissed Aunt Elsa on the check before getting the hell out of my office, in case she changes her mind.

"Bring her to meet us soon! " Aunt Elsa called after me.

" I will !"

I grinned to myself as I quickly made my way out. If I'm right, which I always am, Callen should be coming in at this time. If I don't want to get interrogated, I need to leave now. But Alas, Callen was walking into the office as I was walking out. I tried to dodge him but he saw me and planted himself directly in front of me. I sighed before facing him. Hmm.. Should I make a run for it? Who would have thought, me, the alpha of the biggest pack would be scared of my beta.  

"Hey Kaine! How's it going? " Callen asked in a hipster voice. I raised my eyebrows.

"Seriously? What's with that voice? "

Callen laughed before motioning me to sit.

"Alright, I 'll stop joking now. So? How's your progress with Ari? "

"She's opening up to me, slowly, but she's still holding back. She would sometimes just pull back into herself. I don't know how to get her to open up." I said, I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration. Callen patted my back in sympathy before getting up.

"I'm sure you'll get her to trust you. Well if you'll excuse me now, I need to get back doing YOUR work, which you dumped on me." Callen said dryly before heading into the office. I just chuckled at him as I walked to the lift. Man, Callen is a friend that everyone should have, which is why he's my beta and why I left him in charge while I try to get my mate. Damn stubborn mate. But victory would be much sweeter when I get her.

Ding!

The elevator bell brought me out of my musing. I stepped into the elevator and began to think about my beautiful mate, and how long I need to wait before seeing her again. When the elevator reached the car park level, I made my way to my car. I started my red, sleek, sports car and made my way to Ari's house. I have a surprise for her that will get me laid. Crude, I know. But hey, a guy has needs, and she's the only one I want.
