I walked out of my room and went downstairs. I stopped when I saw Kaine and Jace sitting across each other having a stare down contest. I stood at the stairs and studied Jace. I haven't seen him in like a century, but he still looked the same, lean with muscles, completed with a six pack, very much visible with his tight black shirt. Damn, that guy is as hot as the last time I saw him. But he doesn't send shivers down my spine. Only Kaine can do that to me. I eyed Kaine's swimsuit model body, already feeling hot and heavy. I walked into the room and cleared my throat, breaking the boy's staring contest.

Both of them immediately broke eye contact and snapped their head towards me. Kaine quickly got out of his sit and pulled me into his arms. I sighed, leaning into his embrace. He made me feel loved, like I'm precious.

"I missed you. My heart almost stopped when I saw you unconscious in some other guy's arm's." Kaine murmured, his breath tickling my ear.

"Are you guys done? " Jace said, breaking me out of my daze. Kaine let loose a snarl before I turned to face Jace. Kaine didn't let me leave his arms, instead, he circled my waist loosely and lead me to one of the chairs beside my counter.

"Sit, before you fall. "Kaine said softly.

We sat on the chair together, me on Kaine's lap, since he doesn't want to let me go. Not that I minded. I know that his wolf needs to know that I'm safe and near him. I leaned against Kaine, who started massaging my head. I shuddered at the sparks I felt when he touched me. I saw Jace clenched his jaw but honestly? I can't bring myself to care. Heartless? Maybe, but I don't want to hurt Kaine. I may not think he's my mate, but over the past three years, he wormed his way into my heart.

"So, what happened after I blacked out? "

Jace answered my question, while Kaine nuzzled my neck. I think its a wolf thing. I leaned into him, basking in his presence.

"Well, after you blasted Mictian, you fainted and I shifted both of us to your house. Your 'mate' almost went wolf and attack me. After he put you in bed, we've been waiting for you to come around. "

At that, Kaine lifted his head from my neck and bared his teeth at Jace.

"Alright boys, play nice. "

I'm not gonna lie, I'm amused by their competition, but now is not the time. We need figure out how to stop Mictian from trying to control the world.

I closed my eyes, using my link to contact Dare.

"Dare? We have a situation." I hedge.

"What?" Dare's voice grumbled through the link.

I must have asked at a bad time.

"This has better be important, I'm in the middle of something with Denise. " Dare growled, annoyed.

"OKAY! TOO MUCH INFORMATION! " I yelled, shaking my head to clear the images of what Dare and Denise are doing. Now that was was a mental image I do not need.

"Dare, I need you to come back now. We have things to discuss. "

I cut the link and got up from Kaine's lap. Well, I tried to but Kaine pulled me back.

"Where do you think your going? " Kaine growled.

"I'm hungry, I need to eat okay. " I grumbled.

As soon as I finished speaking, Kaine's arms came around me and he lifted me up bridal style.

I'm not gonna lie, I yelped like a little girl and immediately circled my arms around Kaine's neck, as he carried me into the kitchen.

"I can walk you know. " I chuckled.
