-Midnight's POV-
I continued walking along the trees, I remeber the way like its my own home....well it kinda is. I can hear Dagger calling my name and the snap of twigs as he stumbles along after me. And then the trees break just a little, to form so tightly against this brooke. My Secret Place. You don't hear the water run until you actually see it...there is just a magical feeling about this place, its calm.
"There you are." Dagger's voice made me jump...how did he find me?
"How'd you find me?"
"Please, I could sme....I could see you walking the whole time."
He stumbled over a word, I wonder what he was gunna say, but didn't give it to much thought. He's eyes held me captive.
"You wanna tell me why you ran away from me?" He asked, something about him made me feel safe...but in an almost dangerous way.
"I guess. Its just, things like this usually don't happen to me. I hot guy that gets approached by Stefanie Cross doesn't reject her to come hang out with me. That's just not how it works around here. Usually if something like that happens, they realize I'm a freak and run back to Stefanie to either become best friends or to make out behind the bleachers. Its just....not....normal" I hade to stop, I hate talking about myself, it makes me seem so concided.
"Nobody ever said I was normal...plus...Stefanie's so fake she probably has Made In China on the back of her neck....you think I'm hot?"
I couldn't help but laugh...so I'm not the only one that finds Stefanie a slut. But I can still feel the rejection, its not something that just dissappears.
"What is it? You seem very sad."
Wow, he's an emotion reader.
"Itcs just" I broke down in tears. He rushed over and caught me before I fell into the creek, he craddled me in his arms...the smell of his leather jacket comforted me for some odd reason. "someone being friends with me, just doesn't happen...I've been on my own for almost 4 years...my mom's a crack head prostitute, and my dad..." I stopped...I can't go this deep into a story, not with somrone I barely knew. "Let me go, I'm fine, I'm sorry, I just met you and I'm already crying into your shoulder."
"No, its fine, what were you going to say about your dad?"
"Nothing"
-Dagger's POV-
I knew she was hiding something as soon as she said "nothing"...but I couldn't put my finger on it.
"Let's get you home." I said, pulling her into my arms to pick her up.
"I don't want to go home...I don't want to face them."
I knew them meant her parents, she had built a tolerance to the school kids.
"Well, fine, then your coming to my house."
I could see the denial in her eyes even as she said, okay, she looked to weak to walk, so I offered to carry her, but she denied the offer, she doesn't like to have people think they have to help her. We walked back to school and over to my car, nice shiny and black.
"Here" I said, opening the door for her. Her long black hair sweeped over my arm as she got in. I walked over to the driver side, and got in. She was staring at me, and when I looked over she quickly directed jer sight somewhere else.
-Midnight's POV-
Damn, he was fine. I couldn't stop staring as he got in his car....man, the black hair, the snake bites (that I have as well) and the dark clothing...he was like a boy version of me...besides being a reject and being hot and all that stuff. When I realized he saw me staring, i advirted my attention to Stefanie, who was giving me a glare, for once I had something she wanted. The enginge roared to life, and we were headed to his house.
