AS THE HUMANS conversed in the sala, I stayed in the shadows, preferring to clean myself. I perked up at the sound of obnoxiously loud laughter and noticed the unpleasant man chatting with my human's little sister, shifting into different humans to make her laugh. He seemed more relaxed than he first was when he greeted my human.
I paused my licking to stare at him. Then immediately went back to licking.
"Sid?" My ears twitch and perk up as Eliana called for me. I turned my head to see her patting at an empty space beside her and I reluctantly left my spot to sit by her. I forgot my cleaning and purred loudly when she gently scratched my neck.
"This is my cat." She explained to the others. I lazily peeked open one eye to see many of them fawning over me. I smiled contentedly, purring in satisfaction and pride while one human showered me with flowers. As I regarded my worshipers, I saw the man from a while ago leaning on the wall, not bothering to come near, and narrowed my eyes.
But before I could meow in complaint, I yelped. Small, sweaty hands grabbed me and I scowled at Natalia who swung me around with her. Most of the despicable humans laughed. Even my human hid a small smile behind her fingers as she watched us dance wildly.
Annoyed, I start to hiss and screech loudly, making Eliana worried. She quickly asked her sister to put me down and gently caressed my head in apology. I ignored her, still feeling hurt for not saving me sooner.
When I looked away from her, I spotted the unpleasant man staring at us- her in distaste before leaving the scene. I could smell his annoyance for her since a while ago. He probably thought she was a killjoy and that made me even more irritated.
First, unlike the others, he didn't shower me with the attention and praise I deserve and now he disrespects my human?
