"And I promise you never, will you hurt anymore." -This I Promise You, *NSYNC
Jordan's P.O.V
"I WILL KILL HIM!"
"I'MA BREAK HIS FACE!"
"I WILL MAKE SURE HE NEVER GOES NEAR JORDAN!"
All of the boys shouted various threats into the air. Each one seeming more intense than the last.
Nathan automatically jumped to my side as soon as Heather and the girls finished explaining what happened and what we think is going to happen.
He ran his hands up and down my arms, whispering soothing things in my ear as I held him close to me.
"Can I have permission to beat up his disgusting face as soon as I see him anytime soon or later?" Max asked.
"Please do." I mumbled.
Max smiled slightly and patted my shoulder. "It's okay. Everything will be fine. Trust me."
I sighed and got out of Nathan's grasp. I ran upstairs and jumped into my room. I've had enough. I've had enough of everyone telling me it was "okay" and that everything will be "fine" and I just needed to "trust them".
I mean, yes, I definitely appreciate how much everyone cares, but sometimes, just telling someone that everything will be okay when you KNOW that it probably won't, isn't really helping!
I know everything won't be okay. I know something will happen. I know Jason will see me. I know Jason will hurt me. And I know that it will all happen soon.
And as if I could tell the future, my phone screen on the nightstand lit up.
I sighed and picked the phone up., scared out of my mind when I read the text:
I see you. (;
"CREEP!" I shouted and threw my phone to the floor.
I am so lucky it didn't break.
"Jordan?" I heard Nathan's voice from behind the door.
"Yeah?"
"Can I come in?"
"Yeah."
Nathan opened the door and ran over to me, embracing me in a huge hug. He planted a kiss on my forehead and moved his lips towards my ear. "Listen, I know you're tired of everyone saying it will all be okay. But I promise you that nothing will happen as long as I'm here." He whispered.
He pulled away and looked into my eyes, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. "Nothing." He repeated.
I grabbed the sides of his face and pulled him in for a long kiss. It was sweet and passionate. Full of lust. And that's just what I needed to forget about Jason for even one second.
We both pulled away, our foreheads touching. I smiled and pecked his lips once more. "Thanks."
Nathan returned the smile. "You're welcome, babe."
I was about to lean in once again when I saw my phone light up on the floor. I threw my head back and groaned. "OH MY GOSH." I stood up and picked up my phone, then sat back down next to Nathan.
He slowly leaned over and tried to read the text over my shoulder.
Awhhh well look at you two. Aren't you adorable? Better make the most it now before I...
...
(:
"That prick." Nathan muttered over my shoulder. He kissed my shoulder once again and placed his head on the crook of my neck. "He's just trying to get into your head."
What. Are you kidding me. Jason can SEE me right now and Nathan is trying to tell me that he's just trying to get into my head? Well if that's what he's trying to do then he's doing an A+ job at it!
"Nathan, then how the heck does he see me right now? He texted me a while ago saying he can see me and now this. Nathan, this is getting too weird and I don't like it at all."
"Jordan, I know you're scared, but you need to just listen to me."
"Listen to what? Huh? What do you have to say that could possible make me feel any less scared than I do right now?!" I said a little louder than I intended.
Nathan grabbed my arm gently and pulled me down, so that I was looking straight into his eyes. "Remember when we were still in the Bahamas? Remember that one night by the pool? Just you and me? Remember what I said?"
I thought for a second and nodded my head, remembering that wonderful memory.
"Jordan, I made a promise to you. I said that I'd protect you. I said that I wouldn't let anyone hurt you. I said that I would make sure you felt safe. And you know what? I'm still sticking by what I said. Every word. And no one is gonna change that."
I didn't know what to say to that. What could I say to that? There was nothing that I could say back to that right now.
"Nathan, I'm sorry." I mumbled. "Look, I believe you."
Nathan smiled and nodded towards the pillows, signaling for me to lay down. I hesitated at first, but then slowly got under the sheets.
Nathan traced the sides of my face with that smile still on his face. "Just rest a little bit, babe. I'll be here when you wake up."
"Promise?" I asked hopefully.
"Promise."
----
"AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!"
My head jolted up. my heart was beating so hard.
I heard someone scream...
I sat up on the bed and pinched myself, just to make sure this was reality.
And to my terrifying surprise, it was.
I turned to my side and saw Nathan fast asleep. How much of a heavy sleeper was he?
"AAHHHHHHH!!!"
There it goes again. That frighteningly familiar scream.
I gulped and stood up from the bed, walking towards the door and down the stairs. I heard muffled cries coming from the kitchen.
Holding my breath, I walked towards the kitchen, slowly wishing that I just stayed in bed with Nathan. I wish he just woke up and came down here with me.
"JASON, STOP!!"
The voice was closer now, and growing to sound more and more familiar.
I stood near the doorway of the kitchen now. it was almost pitch black, but still a bit light enough for me to make out a shadow in the kitchen, looking like it was holding some sort of bat-like object in its hand. And right under it, to my horror, I could see the mop of red velvet hair, as well as the large pool of red water circling around it.
And that is when I screamed.
