"I hope this night lasts forever, hold my hand. The blue moonlight makes this a beautiful night. Walk across that sky with me." Beautiful Night, B2ST

Nathan's P.O.V

This is it...

Jordan's P.O.V

Nathan grabbed my hand and pulled me towards some direction. I thought about just stopping and demanding him to tell me what the heck was going on, but sleepiness prevented me from doing that.

He dragged me a few blocks before I finally realized he was taking me to the local park. The sky was fairly dim, but bright enough for me to make out the small playground in the distance. “Ummm Nathan, why exactly are we-“

“Shhh!” he snapped and put a finger to his lip.

I jolted my head back a bit and then shook it off. Someone was pushy.

We got to the park and Nathan gestured for me to follow him on the grass, towards the playground. I looked down at my feet and realized that I was dragged all the way here in my slippers. After looking up at Nathan, who was constantly waving for me to join him, I pointed at my feet and shook my head.

Sorry but there’s no way I’m getting my zebra slippers all dirty on that grass. These things were my babies.

“Come on Jordan!” Nathan begged.

I shook my head and declined.

Nathan stood there and thought for a second. Something must have hit him because he suddenly held up his finger and quickly ran towards me.

Completely shocked, I couldn’t react in any way to his action. Instead, he just ran towards me and literally picked me off my feet. “Alright, now we can go.” He said happily and carried me into the playground.

I shook my head and smiled. “You’ll never stop, Sykes.”

“Never.” He whispered.

We got to the playground and Nathan set me down on the stop of the slide. We sat on the little platform thing next to the slide next to each other and took in whatever was left of the night.

The cool breeze whipped my bare arms, causing me to shiver quietly. Nathan noticed this and didn’t hesitate to move closer to me and wrap his arms around me.

I chuckled and accepted his embrace. “Thanks.”

He smiled, “No problem, love.”

I let out a deep breath and let my eyes wander across the sky. “Sooo….why exactly did you drag me here at like 3am?”

Nathan’s hold on me loosed a bit as he paused, trying to look for the right words to say. I tried to move my head to examine his facial expression, but I couldn’t.

After what seemed like forever, Nathan finally spoke up. “I needed to tell you something.”

“Well then tell me.”

Nathan took another deep breath and pulled his arms away from me. He slid a bit back against the platform. I raised my eyebrow in confusion and tilted my head.

He shot me a weak smile and scratched the back of his head. “Oh, I kinda just wanted to make eye contact while asking you this….”

“Ohhh…” I said quietly.

“Okay, so Jordan,” Nathan began, sounding nervous as ever.

“Yess?”

There was another pause before anything came out of his mouth. Boy, he was either nervous or just really tired. Maybe even both. I’ve never seen him like this. You could literally see the small drips of sweat pouring down from his face.

I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to provide some sort of heat and nodded towards Nathan, signaling him to continue speaking.

“Jordan, that day at the airport was literally like a stab to the heart for me.” Nathan blurted out.

I froze for a second. Not from the coldness, but from what he just said.

Actually, by this point, it could very well be the coldness too….

ANYWAY!

“Wait, what?” I replied. “Nath, what are you-“

“I know I should’ve said something. I know I should’ve done something. But for some reason I couldn’t. I was nervous. I was scared.”

It took a while for this to all process inside. Nervous? Scared? I nudged a little closer to Nathan. “Scared of what?”

He shrugged and started poking his finger through the small holes on the platform. “Of how you’d react. Of what you’d say or what’d you do. I didn’t want to lose you in anyway. But I guess in the end, I actually did end up losing you. Gosh, I was so stupid.” He muttered to himself.

“Nathan,-“

“No, wait,” Nathan interrupted me. He put his finger and signaled for me to wait. “Just….please….let me do the talking for now.”

Not looking for any further argument for any kind, I just leaned against the slide and nodded my head. “Go ahead.”

Nathan bent over slowly and grabbed my hand. His touch created this weird feeling inside of me, one I’ve never felt before. “Jordan….from the moment I laid eyes on you, I’ve been hooked. You are definitely a beautiful girl, but once I got to know you better, I fell even harder. And when you told me all about your stupid ex, I literally felt like my heart was broken into a million pieces. I couldn’t stand seeing you hurt like that. I always thought to myself how much better you’d be with me. How happy I’d make you…..” his voice trailed off.

I hung onto his last words and pleaded for more.

Come on Nathan….just say those words…

His eyes wandered over the sky as he tried to search for more words to say. “Jordan,”

My head almost immediately moved at the sound of his voice. I looked over at him. “Hmmm?”

“I’ve been waiting to ask you this since like, forever….” Nathan stated.

I nodded my head, hoping he would continued.

And he sure did.

“Will you be my girlfriend?” he asked with pure nervousness in his voice.

I couldn’t help but smile at the sound of those words. I leaned my head back and looked up at the sky. “Oh, I don’t know…..”

Nathan held his breath.

I laughed and attacked him with a hug. “Of course!”
